Selected does not matter the number you count is the individuals who retire to the Jury room to deliberate on the verdict. 11 gave a verdict from the jury Forman (woman) that is all that counts.

No

The trial was conducted with 12, but 1 dropped out.

It was NOT conducted with 11, which can happen, but didn't.

It was a trial with jurors as normal. Any trial can have jurors leaving for any number of reasons, but they are still regarded as being normal trials with a normal jury.

To start with 11, although possible, would have made it unusual.

Thems the facts ! (Before the pedant starts, it may not be in legalese)

Carmen have you served in a jury? It is important you disclose this as it will illustrate the voracity of your comments.

The trial that concluded the case.
There were 12 jurors involved over 13 days, the remaining 11 were told ....

“The trial will continue with 11 of you. I will give you further directions tomorrow when you return to court.

“There is no significance. This happens in trials not infrequently. You can continue as a jury of 11 very well.”

So 12 were involved, and the input of the 1 that retired was still included within the remaining 11.

So 11 made the final decision, but all 12 were involoved to some degree.

So it was a normal 12 person jury

That will be a no then and your comments are from a place of ignorance.
