Oh Rwanda

In the first half of 2021, more than 84 million individuals were forcibly displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, violence or human rights violations. That was an increase of 1.6 million people from the previous year, and the world's forcibly displaced population remained at a record high.

The UK offered protection, in the form of asylum, humanitarian protection, alternative forms of leave and resettlement, to 14,734 people (including dependants) in 2021. Of these: 81% were granted refugee status following an asylum application ('asylum')

The annual number of asylum applications to the UK peaked in 2002 at 84,132. After that the number fell sharply to reach a twenty-year low point of 17,916 in 2010. It rose steadily again throughout the 2010s and then sharply in 2021, to 48,540, which was the highest annual number since 2003

evidence says not

What evidence says not?

by the way the majority of those coming here by boat are genuine asylum seekers

Are they? How do you know? Are you judging by the fact that the majority play the game by claiming asylum and we're crap at identifying those that are playing the asylum claiming game?

Details of the scheme are sparse, but the government has said any person arriving in the UK could be sent offshore depending on the 'strength of their claim' and their method of arrival.

They currently are sparse so in real terms what does anyone really know - it's aimed at reducing the number of boats. That doesn't mean it will have much effect on refugees or that all will be processed in Rwanda. Where they will stay in Rwanda looked interesting - I wonder how many beds it has and how many similar places there are. Looked like a hotel.

More to the point it says

Pictured: Migrants, mainly from Syria and Iraq, walk at the E45 freeway from Padborg, on the Danish-German border, heading north to try to get to Sweden on September 9, 2015 (file photo). Millions of migrants fled the middle east into Europe after conflict broke out in Syria.

Because of Denmarks intentions some might think it safer and easier to go to an alternative country like Sweden.

Many Muslims convert to Christianity once here as a back-up in case they are refused asylum. Back up application will say that they will be in danger if they are returned to their country of origin because of their new found 'faith'. And we keep falling for it!

Indeed. It's a well known con trick by muslims nicknamed Pray to Stay

Did you miss the bit about the law being passed in Denmark last year.

Simple way to prove - offer them a bacon sandwich, if they refuse to eat, they are still Muslims :)

So maybe ripping up a koran in front of them might be more effective

That's not really true Harry. Plenty of Jews eat pork in Israel and beyond so would think many Muslims will eat pork.
