If history punishes the same people over, and over, what else can it be other than god? There is no other rational explanation possible, and I am agnostic.

I haven't read any religious texts, so I am at a loss as to what you are talking about. Do you feel shortchanged to be this unhappy?
There are a lot of amazing designs in nature that would suggest there is a designer. For instance, why do we find animals cute? Animals will make perfect terraformers when humans spread to other planets. We can infer from the cuteness that humans will be going to other planets. The cuteness allows us to preserve the animals because they are vital to our future. Before we have even reached the future, the plans for it already exist. If this is not evidence of god, what is? Evolution theory would be useless for explaining existence of future plans because it can only work with pre-existing conditions.
Given that there is a sign of god, it can't be that hard to see god would punish those who do unacceptable things that would interfere with his plans. If there are people being punished repeatedly, it isn't hard for us to conclude those people are doing things wrong and have a high probability of being punished again, especially when we can tell they are doing something wrong.
