I never read the bible. I got as far as "there was light". Instead I look for signs of god. Given the justice he dished out to some people, that tells me he's there doing his stuff. He loves all his children. He continues to correct the ones behaving badly. He does not work according to the time scale you prefer. He has a mind of his own.
