Peaceful anti racism protests dwarf far right

The courts will be busy for a while:

More than a quarter of the 159 people charged by police so far are under 21, with the youngest a 14-year-old boy who was charged after allegedly aiming a firework at officers in Liverpool. The oldest to appear in court was 69-year-old William Nelson Morgan. He looked despondent in the dock, blinking rapidly and occasionally looking down at the floor as he was jailed for two years and eight months after pleading guilty. It was clear he had never expected to end up in a courtroom, let alone prison, after taking part in what the judge described as “very serious mob violence” armed with a wooden cosh. It had taken three officers to arrest the retired welder, a widower, who shouted “I’m ****ing 70!” as he was being detained, prompting one officer to inquire: “Well, why are you at a ****ing riot?”

Liam Grey, 20, had “never been in trouble in his life” until he was charged with violent disorder after the Rotherham riot, in which a group tried to set fire to a Holiday Inn Express housing asylum seekers on Sunday, his solicitor Chris Wong told Sheffield magistrates court. Wearing a prison-issued grey tracksuit, Grey, who pleaded not guilty, was led to the cells in tears after being refused bail – like each of the adult defendants before the judge that day. He blew a kiss to his mother who, appearing emotional, shouted: “You’ll be all right, Liam, love.” He faces another hearing on 20 August.

Ah, bless.

The cases provided a glimpse into what police faced during the violence. People were accused of throwing bricks, a scaffolding pole and pushing a blazing wheelie bin at police lines.

Just the sort to call others "bed wetters", but can't take it when it's coming back.

Ironically, I first read about it on here.

Yea,

It's ahead of the curve on the Southport stabbings.

Ironically, I first read about it on here.

This lady has been named as the original instigator.

A British businesswoman accused of being the first person to share false information about the Southport killings of three girls has said the “mistake” has “destroyed” her.

Bonnie Spofforth is alleged to have fired off a tweet on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, wrongly claiming the stabbing suspect was an asylum seeker who came to the UK by boat hours after the three girls were killed.

The protests this evening in Three Bridges Crawley are about 3 miles from me.

I’m glad there was no violence

I was reassured a bit by the UK population yesterday. Massive turnout to counter the far right and as far as I know little to no violence. Even when the far right were outnumbered 100-1.

Edit: for those who haven't seen this image the far right protestors are within the police cordon on the far right of the photo. Which is appropriate.
Do we think this is the end of the Farage Riots?
Not really representative of the UK population, the counter protesters were the far left mixed with groups of supporters from other organisations. Look at the pro Palestinian chanting, the Palastinian flags, the BLM posters and the Socialist Workers Party posters. Do you really think local communities can organise counter protests in a matter of days, the far left probably can.

Let's hope though that this is the end to the awful violence we have seen so far and let's also hope that the concerns of the British people haven't been obscured by the violent actions we all witnessed.

The violence shown is the concern of the British people. The counter protests are evidence that for every 5 people protesting lawyers doing their jobs there are 500 who won't stand for the far right wrecking the country one Greg's at a time.

And of those 500, maybe a couple of hundred pro Palestine, supporting terrorism and by default, Iran and Russia.

Kewl.

Nah. just counting the number of Palestinian flags in the pictures.
How many of them were attacking the police or trying to burn down hotels ?

Just to keep it simple, it's not saying they are right to support Palestine or not, its about the actions they were taking .
