Plumbers tool??

Socket formed joint on gas pipe is an 'inappropiate fitting'. Read the Regs chaps!!

You need to read bs6891-7.2 where it says joints using purpose made tooling that allow capillary soldering are acceptable on gas pipework.

Everydays a learning day, even for the old hands.

Absolutely fine to use a pipe expander and covered under bs6891.

Never leave home without expander and tee former.[/quote

What do you use for your tee extractor joints mate? Brazing with Oxy/Act or silver solder?

Upto 42 I use my rothenberger set, which first you drill then insert the racket/former and it pulls the tee,dop your pipe in and solder, anything bigger than 42 then it's braze/bronze weld.

I've used the Rothy kit many times on teeing off large copper tube. But we always braze with Oxy/Act. Do you use standard solder on smaller tube sizes, does it not split after time & leak?
Thanks mate for your input.

Beautiful workmanship that, what's the extra 15mm pipe going back toward the boiler for.

Combi and 7 rads is my limit. ;)

lovely pipework lcgs, you would't get a nice job like that in plastic, long may copper rule

Very nice work... but you might like to rotate that bottom pump head

why, 2 15/60's are pump return to boilers, 25/60 is pump flow to heating system.

thats makes left hand of header return and right hand flow and piped and configured exactly as intended.

Yep... there has to be one pendant...

Pipes do look nice though. I love working with headers - don't get enough opportunity really :(.

Your supposed to have them on the side or top in case the pump leaks

But seriously - I was taking the micky a little... It is Saturday after all.
