Positive Discrimination - Positive Action

Not really, I don't agree that a dislike of positive discrimination implies racial prejudice,

I didn't say, imply or suggest that.
But it could be a reason, one of many, for now complaining against discrimination. I use the word" perhaps" in the post.

That's an OK comment, but, if you join in a discussion after 24 pages and you haven't read the previous pages, especially post 1, page 1,then expect me to recap the gist of my reasoning, from page 1, then you can hardly complain for my being a little tetchy.

I think you're reading it OK, even if you're explanation was a little tortuous.
My intention was to suggest a possible reason why racially prejudiced people are now complaining.
It was not meant to imply that that was the only reason to complain. Some people, racially prejudiced or not, may just perceive disicrmination wrong.

Does that clarify it?

Bearing in mind that I have little more time now to discuss the issue or your interpretation of my comments, etc.
But I'm happy to continue this discussion later.

But this is surely why we should stay in the EU... to help design those diktats which everyone other than us ignores

I think you're reading it OK, even if you're explanation was a little tortuous.

Yes it does clarify, I suspected it to be the case rather than a very derogatory, sweeping and incorrect (I don't favour positive discrimination for reasons already given and I am not racially prejudiced) statement which is how it could be interpreted.

But the discussion about staying or not in the EU is a far greater and wider discussion than simply Positve Discimination/Action. Therefore, surely it deserves its own thread.
And I have no intention of responding here, to the topic of Brexit any further, because it is deserving of its own thread.

I'm not trying to waste your time, I'm just interested as to how, in this modern age, some people still find discriminatory practises to be acceptable; I understand that you feel it's necessary to 'level the playing field' and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion and I've enjoyed trying to understand it, it's not changed my opinion but it has given me food for thought.
