Do the statistics take into account the scale of the abuse by grooming gangs? In Rotherham I think 5 men were prosecuted, but there were 1400 victims.

But part of deciding whether a national public inquiry is needed has to involve putting it into context. The chief prosecutor in these cases said something along the lines of these cases have a very high public profile, but there are actually relatively few. I welcome a wide discussion reflecting the conversations going on nationally.

In what way? There has been massive publicity every time there has been a trial. It's not something that the public are unaware of!

There used to be a problem with cultural sensitivity but Starmer claims to have sorted it out when he was DPP.

Got any examples of these church gangs? I can’t recall seeing any of those in the news. Odd per y vicars etc but no gangs as far as I’m aware. Perhaps you know different?
