"Boris Johnson has ordered a major shake-up of the Downing Street coronavirus response as Labour’s Keir Starmer accused the Prime Minister of “winging it”.

Mr Johnson will personally chair a new strategy committee dubbed ‘CS’, while Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove will take charge of an operations committee known as ‘CO’ - a process that mirrors the Government’s Brexit planning set-up from last year."

Poor guy is so busy, having to take charge of every department. He is proof that a PM can work effectively from home, or from wherever he turns out to be.

Number one in the charts is Land of hope and glory by Vera Lynn
Is it? Blimey, that was quick. Saw Lawrence fox was trending this morning trying to get the song to number one. I didn't think it would make it tbh!

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!

Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

When Britain first, at heaven's command,

Arose from out the azure main,

This was the charter of the land,

And Guardian Angels sang this strain:

The nations not so blest as thee

Must, in their turn, to tyrants fall,

While thou shalt flourish great and free:

The dread and envy of them all.

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,

More dreadful from each foreign stroke,

As the loud blast that tears the skies

Serves but to root thy native oak.

Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame;

All their attempts to bend thee down

Will but arouse thy generous flame,

But work their woe and thy renown.

To thee belongs the rural reign;

Thy cities shall with commerce shine;

All thine shall be the subject main,

And every shore it circles, thine.

The Muses, still with freedom found,

Shall to thy happy coasts repair.

Blest isle! with matchless beauty crowned,

And manly hearts to guard the fair.

Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!

Britons never, never, never shall be slaves

Didn't know the "Land of hope and glory" is oft played at US graduation ceremonies, who knew?

So what bit is racist and why ?

I think a retrospective look at British Colonialism reveals just a hint of white superiority that was somewhat absent back in the day. gasbag and his RWR gammon compatriots have yet to move on from the heady days of black slaves, brown punkawallahs and eager jam boys.

Similar in a way that some Germans cringe when reminded of their Nazi past.

However, I won't argue that those long gone days were great for white people.(y)
