Rishi delivers.

...to a fudged solution that will not deter, not get off the ground and will unlikely see any small boat people deported.
At great cost, time and energy wasted in the courts, Parliament, etc.

"Those right-wing Conservative MPs have decided that voting against the bill as a whole risks bringing down the whole government. And that’s a price they are not willing to take."
It’s the end result that counts, not the whys and hows. It's a massive triumph for Rishi - no doubt about it. If he gets this through the Lords without too many changes, he'll call an election. And he'll win!

44 MPs voted against the bill - over half the Tory majority - and 2 resigned, taking their place alongside a growing clique around Suella B. that'll continue to make this issue a cornerstone of the Tory manifesto before the election. Stuff the economy. Who cares about inflatiion when the boats keep a-comin'.
None of that makes a jot of difference. The HoL will throw it back in his face and then they can start all over again. The very definition of insanity.

You're probably right:
"If he gets this through the Lords without too many changes, he'll call an election."
But that's a bigly IF. Even the far-right Tories in the Lords are not as far right as those in the Commons, and there's few of them.
The Tories do not hold an outright majority in the Lords.
As to whether he'll win or not, depends on magic, delusion, wishful thinking, or any combination of all three.

Another step nearer.

You do know what they say about tories and brexiteers don't you?

The bit about 'the only good ones are...'

But you know that anyway ;)

So yep, 'another step nearer' for the ever dwindling band of 'nasty party supporters' is indeed something to celebrate! (y)

Well, we know what you say but who are 'they'? I don’t see any others on this forum, do you? How's yer dad doing - any nearer to your wish? Poor bastard, having you for a son.

I'll throw it out to the forum: Does anyone on here hate their parents and wish them dead because they voted different to you in the Brexit referendum?

Yep, I do ;)

Poor bastard, having you for a son.
Think about your grand kids and how they will view you as they grow up...

Being that you have taken away many of their life choices because of your racist/xenophobic views!

Sadly of course they may grow up with the same prejudices as you given your influence...

But there is always hope that like me they understand that irrational prejudices can be fought against (y)

Yep, I do ;)
You seem to be the only **** on here professing hatred and wishing death on their parent for voting a different way to them in the referendum. If you know otherwise, please tell.

He won't.

They don't.

Mot is getting desperate.

As you were.
