Rishi delivers.

Don’t forget our beef with Spain over Gibraltar.
Jersey and Guernsey arern't in Gibraltar.

Gibraltar voted overwhelmingly for remain.
The EU reduced the tension between Spain and UK over Gibraltar because both UK and Spain were members.

But if a country wants to join the EU, they must settle and disputes with other EE countries so Gibraltar would prevent us joining unless we roll over for them.

*checks how well all other post Brexit negotiations have gone*

Goodbye to the rock then.

I think you're making a mountain out of a convenient and easily overcome molehill.
MADRID, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Spain is "very close" to signing a deal on the post-Brexit status of the British territory of Gibraltar, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said after meeting his British counterpart David Cameron in Brussels.

Or you're stuck in the past.

Then there's the latest opinion poll. Sunak’s Tories were now 27 points behind Labour. That’s the same gap that Liz Truss had after dynamiting the economy. Imagine being that bad. That mistrusted. And Rish! was supposed to be a safe pair of hands. The tech bro who could manage the party’s decline. Now he too was also officially less popular – less effective – than a lettuce. That’s some achievement. Borderline heroic.

John Crace hits the spot again. Hard to miss, these Tories. Takes all the sport out of it, really.

Didn’t stop us last time

when we were a member we were protected from challenges

but to be fair we might be pizzed off if Spain owned Isle of Wight

We only agreed to sell stuff to each other back then. I believe it was called the 'common market' which later morphed by stealth into all sorts of EU shìt.
UK agreed much more than that:
Spain, Britain and the European Union agreed on Dec. 31, 2020, hours before Britain's full exit from the bloc, that Gibraltar would remain part of EU agreements, such as the Schengen Area, and Spain would police the port and the airport, pending a lasting solution.

And the current proposal appear to be acceptable to both EU, UK and Spain.
The European Commission and Spain sent Britain a proposal, including keeping Gibraltar's land border to Spain open in late 2022, and ensuring the free flow of people.

No it didn't you idiot.

Once you want to trade with someone you need to set terms, price, legal framework and a procedure for dispute resolution - that lowers the costs of trading and benefits everyone.

Now exporters and importers have more paperwork to deal with and that is a deadweight loss.

Tata just shut down their last blast furnaces you bozo - I thought Brexit was about re energising manufactring? Where are we going to get our steel from now?

Just admit Brexit was folly and we need to reverse it for the benefit of the economy, the benefit of your kids.

The UK will still produce steel, just not the kind of high grade quality demanded for construction, rather the cheaper cuts used for in the automotive industry when the electric arc furnaces are up n' running.

But But they need us more than we need them.

So more imports.
But it's British Steel - it's the best Steel there is because it's British.
Ok but why is British Steel the best steel there is?
Because it's British.
Yeah ok I get that but what makes it being British the best steel there is?
Haven't I already said it - because it's British.
You are just repeating because it is British but not saying why being British makes it better?
Are you even listening to what I just said, it's the best steel because it's British.

Now replace Brish with Brexit and the argument is the same - it is a self referencing argument, they cannot point to why only the description never the detail.

Orwell would approve.
