It was a good swerve.

thats a graph showing legal routes. One source vs all source? Thats pathetic even from you. I also note its a GRANT rate.
She is wrong and we all know it.
She was trying to argue her lobbyist position that France has 3 X more people seeking its protection compared to the UK. i.e. they are already doing 3X more than us. Its nonsense.
We could have 500,000 and a 1% acceptance rate and that would not mean we lead Europe in protecting asylum claimants.
We do not include those coming via safe a legal routes in our stats. I've no idea if France has a similar policy.
from your source.
Bit like you did when started going off at a tangent when you started going on about scrapyards, when it wasn't relevant to the point I was making. RolleyesDifferent argument.
We're discussing the accuracy and veracity of Zoe Gardner's testimony to H of C.
You want to discuss the morality of asylum seekers coming to UK.
No. It was a poor misogynistic swerve. MBK clearly despises women. It was a good swerve.
As much as Bloom? he'd have to go some.No. It was a poor misogynistic swerve. MBK clearly despises women.
Noseall back from tugging himself off misunderstanding Zoe's "open to work" tag on her linkedinNo. It was a poor misogynistic swerve. MBK clearly despises women.
Your 91,000 does not reflect the accurate numbers for boat arrivals. it's a grossly inflated figure. The most up to date correct numbers are :
91,047 UK
115,078 France
158,000 seem to have gone missing to match the 3X claim. Might be why poor Zoe didn't finish her PhD in Lobbying.
Zoe Gardner explains it slowly, eloquently and succintly.
The question was, "of the asylum seekers in Calais, why do they not claim in France, italy, Spain or Greece?
from Eurostat:The most up to date correct numbers are :
91,047 UK
115,078 France
158,000 seem to have gone missing to match the 3X claim. Might be why poor Zoe didn't finish her PhD in Lobbying.
That's becasue asylum seekers to France do not arrive by boat. They travel overland. That's not a possible route for asylum seekers to get to UK.Trim the data as you like, you have no way to compare boat arrivals in the UK with Asylum claimants in France.
3 x 91,047 ≠ 115,078
You certainly are with spurious bar chartsbut she is giving misleading information
Taking last year, it was around doubleDid France receive 3 X as many asylum claims to the UK last year?
Its quite simple.
2022: 115,000 to France, 40,000 boat arrival applications to UK. That's as good as 3X.Taking last year, it was around double
previous years it was around 3x
You are talking about initial acceptance.Do you need help with the maths?
take the number claiming and multiply by the acceptance rate to get the number granted/accepted.
156,455 France 2022 * .25 = 39,114
81,130 UK 2022 * .70 = 62,391
she is wrong either way you calculate it.
