Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Draft Bill

Largest group of illegals last year - so yes - hardly any the previous year.

Up until July this year, you had a fairly good chance of being granted a right to remain. lets face it any rookie migration lawyer or trafficking gang will tell you:
- live in a muslim country? become a christian. north africa? homosexual etc. Or simply protest against the government. impossible to disprove and highly likely to get you a kicking or worse in your home country. Thats the only box you need to tick.

Returns agreement signed with Albania, Albanian "refugees" dropped almost overnight. Numbers are down

the only reason small boat crossing numbers are down is because the U.K. made a returns agreement with Albania

Sunaks claim that the illegal migrant bill and Rwanda plan are reducing crossings is simply untrue…..if you take out the Albanian figures from the state, numbers haven’t gone down

Although it seems like the govt were slow dealing with it anyway

Albania criticises UK’s lack of cooperation over Channel crossings

Government sources in Tirana say UK has failed to provide information or agree a deportation deal

Thats not what the data shows.

2023 was tracking the same as 2022 pretty much up until the summer. Since then the rate has declined by around 1/3rd. I wonder why?

Nobody wants to pay 3k to cross the channel in a wet cold dingy, share a room on a barge for a few months and then end up back where you started..

You've hit the nail on the head, at last.

Process them and return them.

Why are you struggling with this ?

If only the government had thought of that. Return them where? They chucked their ID in the sea on the crossing remember.

So the Government has the answer. or just pretending that it does?

Most, not all, will still be able to be identified if they want to claim genuine asylum.

Country of origin will refuse them as undocumented.

Its all so easy..

here is my 5 point plan

1. fix the system
2. implement the fixed system
3. ask why it was so hard
4. realise it is really hard
5. pretend it was the last guy's fault.

Straight off there boats

Taken to a centre given a cup of tea and a bun
Set of clothes

4 days later off to the air port and on a plane to Rwanda

4 days could be flexible ?? May be 3 days or 2 days ???

Your arguments too Strong, too well informed, too accurate and too precise, you're not a mod are you? ;)

It is exactly what the data shows.

most of the Albanians arrived July to October 2023

if the Albanian numbers were removed from the 2022 graph, the 2023 figures would be exactly the same.

the illegal migrant bill and Rwanda scheme has zero impact on the numbers, it’s literally just Albanians.

data from here on Albanian arrivals

You make the false assumption they are coming over here on a jolly.

People don’t just up sticks and go to a new country on a whim, they do it because where they are is intolerable.

The Rwanda bill will pass the vote at first reading tomorrow.

The right wing of the party will vote in favour tomorrow so they can attempt to amend it at the committee stage.

if they voted it down tomorrow it would look like an attempt to get Sunak out.
