They Shoot Horses, don't they?

What if the "something better" addressed your concerns? Would that not be better?
I would never criminalise a family member who puts someone out of their genuine terminal suffering when asked to, whether doing it directly, or assisting them, or going to Switzerland. The cps have discretion to decide if it is prosecutable as manslaughter. But when the taboo of suicide is removed, it becomes less socially unacceptable. Think of all tne internet related cases.

Sorry, I'm confused.

Do you mean that a person should never be able to request assisted dying, no matter the safeguards and circumstances?

I think I read you thought covid was a conspiracy
Then you thought wrong...

I never said it didn't exist, just the reaction and the way yet another 'virus' was dealt with and recorded...

Pretty much every one has had that experience.
Then time to end that medieval practice!
You have have swallowed the government line that the legislation offers an easy fix.

I have swallowed nothing from the government...

God botherers on the other hand will swallow anything they are told they should believe in!

I've made my decision, and should the choice to me, then the only thing I would swallow would be a life ending pill.

Easy thing to happen with a morally complex subject

I would never "kill" someone in those circumstances but recognise that others would, but that happens with palliative care, Switzerland, and in extreme cases when a family members kills the person direct. Plenty of discretion within the existing law and CPS guidance to take appropriate action, or none at all.

I am sure you said you were against lockdown and saw it as conspiracy between the pharmo companies and government. That would have led to widespread excruciating deaths, or would assisted dying have coped with it all?

End of life is not medieval, although they had more experience of it.

I am not convinced god botherers are the only ones against it.

You can already swallow pills to achieve that.

The term Catholic means universal, it includes all Christian denominations.

Christians who follow the teachings of the Church of Rome with the Pope as their spiritual head are called Roman Catholics.

You don't have to follow the Pope to call yourself a Catholic .

The tendency these days of Roman Catholics to refer to themselves as Just Catholic is to imply that there is only one legitimate Christian church.

All roads lead to Rome.

Assisting them.

But not recognising they should have a choice.

Tbh I don’t have an issue / problem about people having the right to bump them selves off

Should be readily available on prescription for say over 50s or 60s on the NHS

Proof of ID
Sign a form
Proof of finance / savings to pay for the funeral or what ever

A sort of diy bump off kit :giggle: With a decent set of instructions

It is. Deliberately ending a persons life is quite different.

Yes and for lots of people who request this it’s their choice.

I think that assisted dying bill in the UK is long overdue

Wonder how the vote will go when it comes back to the HoC
