Believing that you are something different to what you actually are is not normal. If I went round saying I am a thoroughbred stallion I would be sectioned, and rightly so.

For sure, not everyone that identifies as transgender, genderfluid, or having issues of genital deformity, etc, will be listed as transgender.
I'm sure that many go through their entire lives without coming to terms with their position.

it's strange though that people born with facial or other obvious disfigurements are treated early to correct the problem.
But being born with a genital disfigurement can mean facing bigotry, relationship and family problems and even worse throughput their often short lives.
It's usually quite correct to wait until they approach maturity before any treatment, if required or desired, is decided upon. But they should not be the subject of bigotry and sometimes social disgrace.

Not disagreeing with you, but correcting a "disfigurement" like having or missing ovaries and a uterus and the rest, is in a different bracket, it's not "correctable". And I'm sure few 100% gay men would want their bits "correcting".

I can well understand women not being happy in some situations though, with trans women who have muscles, testosterone and a means of personal entry which can all be used in various combinations against them.
I used to think the term was trans man, as in a man who has transitioned. It still makes a fair bit of sense.

It's a sobering truth that most born-male people could hold a hand over most women's mouth and nose for the short time it would take to be fatal. I remember watching a self-defence documentary on Oz TV. The women were taught how to try to get out of it, but in most cases couldn't.

You may be born with both, then you could have surgery to correct it, or you may decide not to. You cannot be born with the wrong reproductive organs, if you have a nob and balls you are male, if you have a fanny and a womb you are a female. Elective surgery to alter your appearance will not make you something different, you will remain a male or female, just mutilated.

I assume you are referring tot he Tavistock centre. Have you read the actual report, or are you relying on social media for your factual details?
As I remember it, there was 1 case of someone complaining that their puberty blocker was poorly communicated.
And the other issue was that there was only one clinic offering such advice, on trans issues, so, a) there was insufficient choice or facilities, and b) having only one such establishment failed the possibility of having "peer review" of issues.
If you know of any other issues or incidents (real ones, not social media speculation) please present them for our perusal.

Please don't conflate the change of a mascot for an amusement park with trans gender issues.
If it had been about transgender issues, they could have changed it to Tommie the tiger.

You can be born with the the wrong bits.
It's the difference between sex and gender.
There are plenty of well documented cases, many ending badly.
And looking around, infinite degrees and many variations.

As I said, imagine yourself, the person you mentally are, waking up and seeing the wrong set. You feel male, you want to do all the things men do, but something went wrong. Would you say, "Ok then I'll be a woman"?

That's the situation some folk realise is their position when they start to self-identify as one gender or another.

Sex is a fact, it is not a matter of preference.

Very rarely, you might happen to have an abnormality or deformity that you wish to be corrected, but this is not at all the same as a man who says "I am a woman"
