Trouble at mill.

When I read your link, it says 18 infants, of whom 15 were male and had a abnormality in testicles or testosterone.

I don't see that it says they were mistaken for the other sex, at birth.

So not the men who say "I am a woman."

And 1 in 1000 are born with genital defects, or indistinguishable genitalia.

"OR"

So how many that were mistakenly classified as the wrong sex, at birth?

Considerably fewer.

And not a number that you wish to divulge.

You should try reading a bit more of that article.
One example of what's known as ambiguous genitalia is a baby girl with an enlarged clitoris that looks more like a small penis, the study authors explained.
In some cases, infants have external sex organs that don't match their internal reproductive organs. For example, a female infant can have external sex organs that resemble male genitals but have typical internal female organs -- ovaries and a uterus.
For their study, the researchers analyzed data on nearly 14,200 newborns. Of those, 18 had ambiguous genitalia. That's a rate of 1.3 in 1,000 births -- much higher than the rate of one in 4,500 to 5,500 reported in previous studies, Aydin said in a news release from The Endocrine Society.
Or you could just refuse to accept what is written. There's a word for that.

Men are not infants, and are not born as men. They are born as intersex, and may be assigned the wrong label at birth.
When they grow older they may realise that they were assigned the wrong gender.
The same applies to those assigned female at birth but say, "I am a man" when they are older.

I've already given you the estimated number of transgender people in the world, it is 50,000,000.
For sure, sometimes the doctors' guess correctly. But just as likely, the sex at birth looks absolutely obvious but the internal organs suggest the assigned label is incorrect, and this does not become apparent until the child is considerably older.

Actually the 1 in 1000 is an underestimate, it's more like 1.3 in 1000

If you are born with a winkle, you are a boy and if you are born with a flower, you are a girl.
If you cut the winkle off and sew a flower on, that doesn't make you a girl and vice versa.

I think it's telling the posts in this thread pat has chosen to comment on since his return from where he goes on a break from duties.

You say "assigned"

If they are actually physically males, then they have been correctly recorded as boys.

Babies are not "assigned" their sex at whim as you imply.

biological sex is not the same as gender.

And even more confusingly a woman can have XY chromosomes

The perceived wisdom of the transgender ideologists is they've been born in the wrong body and the mermaid charity is on hand too sort them mixed up f*ckers for no financial gain. Oh hang on charity tax free open to donations, that argument gone up in smoke then.
