No, you may be born with a mental issue. Elective surgery is not the answer. I was born without the ability to be a highly paid footballer, shall I get surgery to correct that?

Believing that you are something different to what you actually are is not normal. If I went round saying I am a thoroughbred stallion I would be sectioned, and rightly so.

So you believe that people born with one or more of their senses, limbs, missing, organ defects, etc should put up with it, and no treatment, surgery or aids should be made available for them?

Not disagreeing with you, but correcting a "disfigurement" like having or missing ovaries and a uterus and the rest, is in a different bracket, it's not "correctable". And I'm sure few 100% gay men would want their bits "correcting".

But being born with a missing penis, both genitals, or other such defects, you think that's hard luck, just get on with life?

There are now very real concerns about certain medical establishments starting procedures with boys/girls who were either not given sufficient time to consider options or were possibly too young in the first place.

You can be born with the 'wrong' reproductive organs for your 'apparent' sex.

In some cases, infants have external sex organs that don't match their internal reproductive organs.

Your mind might tell you you don't like the hand you've been dealt.

Sex is a fact, it is not a matter of preference.

Very rarely, you might happen to have an abnormality or deformity that you wish to be corrected, but this is not at all the same as a man who says "I am a woman"

Probably a lot more often than you think.

Going back to the population of the world (about 50 billion) that's about 50,000,000 born intersex.
Now that's a coincidence, it's about the same figure I arrived at earlier.

Sex is the gender you are assigned at birth, and indicated on your birth certificate, and as the presented article shows, it is easily possible to be assigned the wrong gender.
However preferred gender is a matter of choice.

Go there if you want to, but that isn't a genital defect.
You might have been born in the wrong skin, and brought up as a human being.
But if you really believe you're a gorilla, i suggest you look for suitable accommodation in the zoo.

Oh, and consult an animal psychologist.
