UK Car manufacturing doubled since Brexit

I'm sure motorbiking will consent to the results of the next referendum.
I am certain I wont be moaning about it 7 years later. But then I was on the fence (almost) in 2016 and I expected remain to win.

He was able to compromise. I liked the coalition govt, it meant only reasonably sensible policies got through. I like any government that works on reducing the burden of the state, which is going to impact the UK's ability to compete on the global scale. UK politics can be very micro focused at times.

What is reducing the burden on the state - that is just wishy washy rubbish - make a statement but not support it - where is the detail - just more rubbish slogans.

Lol compete on a global scale and you voted Brexit - you have not the foggiest idea.

So why has the UK trade intensity fallen more than similar economies?

@SirGalahad - Reducing the burden on the state is about getting people healthy and in work. Reducing the burden of the state is actively trying to minimise the things it does which cost taxes, which have to be paid, which have to be earned, which have to be paid, etc..

I don't have to justify my vote to anyone, I shared my thinking, since you asked. I don't ask you to justify why you think Labour will be a better government or why you revel in bad news or think everything is due to Brexit. I accept Neurodiversity as well as political diversity.

Nobody voted to allow water companies to dump sh*t in the rivers. Show me evidence that if they had been publicly owned and we had stayed in the EU

Did I? I don't remember doing it. Did you vote against it then? Tell us all how you did that.

You knew what you were voting for when you decided to make trade with the EU more difficult resulting in delays to chemicals needed for water treatment.

You voted for this so own it. For a man who prides personal responsibilty why do RW like yourself never own up to your responsibility - you run away at the first sign of taking ownership.

You voted for this.

It's interesting to consider that sewage releases in England average 824 a day, and in Scotland less than 40.

Guess which is publicly owned?

What influence do you have over a foreign-owned monopoly?

You can write to your MP or your local councillor about failings in public services, and they are scared of losing their seat if the public is dissatisfied.

What is Macquarrie scared of?

What is this burden - you have not the first idea of how government spending works.

When we had the pandemic it was Government spending that stopped the economy from collapsing. Government spending creates the income.

So lets look at your one specific point - getting healthy people into work - the majority of people who are on benefits of working age are actually in work and the Government is subsiding their wages. So you want more people in work and not claiming then create jobs and sectors where people can earn more than a living wage.

So when you minimise what the Government does - so then takes up those services? Private providers are only cheaper than Governments when there exist product substitutions and entry and exit into the market. This does not work in healthcare - look at the US as an example - when you need emergency help are you going to shop around to get the cheapest provider?

The stab in the back myth - everything to do with Brexit - well it's certainly a sh it show, pointing that out is simple facts.

You voted for it - own it, it was told that trade would be more difficult - but hey they need us more than we need them.

How many billions have water companies paid in dividends - none of that could be used to invest?
They have less incentive to invest as there is not threat to them other than paltry fines.

TBF, we did that by not voting Tory in the local elections. Lots of people have done the same and the Tories got their arses whooped in the recent local elections.

It's a measure of how well the Govt is doing, after all, if a Govt were doing well, the local vote would reflect that.
