with respect theres is not a huge majority who agree with the lying mesogynist they just choose his lies over an honest but very misunderstood politician
i rejoined labour to vote for corbin as a real honest person and paid for my son to join at the same time then about 25 year old
but said he would never ever get into power as he didnt play the politicians game off saying and promising what people want to hear rather than be honest

that is the paradox of democracy -winning elections is to a significant degree based on manipulating the electorate.

Corbyn wanted power to help people not for vested self interest. I suppose you could argue Corbyn was desperate to win so he could push his ideology. Overall though Corbyn wanted to help reduce the poverty an inequality, not make himself and his mates rich.

Sadly this government have stripped out any integrity on politics. The strategy has been taken from Steve Bannon -it is pure Trumpism. Add to that the Tory cabinet are selling themselves to US lobby groups. People may laugh at the suggestion but their strategy has the hallmarks of protofacism.

I cant see any Labour politician being able to beat them at the moment -Labour need some clever and devious strategists to game plan their way forward. Honest debating will get them nowhere.

Yeah, that’s the last thing a Labour leader would do, isn’t it. Hold on a minute..........

From the horses mouth the numbers seeking asylum and currently in the system.

Another approach is to look at the Home Office’s administrative statistics, which show there were 88,848 asylum cases ‘in progress’ at the end of June 2018. This takes into account all pending applications and cases in which the application has been refused but the applicant has not yet left the country or has secured leave to remain via another route.

A third indicator is the number of people receiving Section 95 support, which is a weekly stipend given to asylum seekers who do not have independent means.

At the end of December 2018, there were 44,258 asylum seekers receiving government support.

Any ex pat living in Spain that actually voted Brexit should not be allowed back into the Uk

Blimey we have enough idiots here as it is

Indeed so we end up with slum towns increased crime etc...it's still happening like that, there have been and are 1000's slipping through.
Is that 1,000s of asylum seekers a day, week, year or decade?

I agree, the frankly insanely small pittance that we give asylum seekers does probably contribute to slums and crimes. After all they aren't allowed to earn money legally.

Also, do you mean asylum seeker or just economic migrants who haven't done the paperwork?

Hmm, it does beg the question though, if we are treating asylum seekers so appallingly, why on earth are they traversing the entire European continent and living in camps on the French coast, queueing to risk their lives crossing the channel in inflatables, just to get to this country. Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't make sense.
