When Ukraine handed over their nuclear weapons to Russia, Russia guaranteed the integrity of Ukraine's borders
But has done the opposite.
In related news, no nation with nuclear weapons has ever been invaded.
The US Abrahms MBT is a very complex system which has a gas turbine propulsion system.
The Challenger and Leopard MBTs are diesel which would be a less painful training programme for the Ukrainians.
The Poles are understandably nervous of Russia's intentions should Ukraine fall, so they may call Germany's bluff and send over their own Leopards.

Ukraine use T 80s themselves with diesel engines, they will use captured ones until they stop, and probably replace the engine if possible, and why should the US supply the M1s first if the major countries in mainland Europe won't, think it's time they grew some balls.

Apart from Israel? they had nukes just after the 6 day war in 67 but were invaded in 1973 (yom kippur war).
The US is giving at least 10 times more military support than Germany, how much more should they give than the directly threatened neighbour, no wonder many Americans question NATO, Europe can do a lot more to help itself.
Thats my point, they spend far less than the US and they and the rest of Europe expect the US to protect them, the countries at most risk are willing to supply Leopard 2 tanks, but Germany is saying you go first and we will follow you, what if the Americans had just turned their back on Ukraine, would Germany have just let russia do what they want, and give no military aid?
You always come up with the links between the Tory party and russia, i think the links with Germany and russia are at a far higher level with a former chancellor even working for them and always praising putin.
And America is saying the same.
