Ukraine counter offensive

Second world war the Nazi armies invaded the Soviet Union without bothering to take an extra pair of socks and sandwiches because they believed they wouldn't need them.

I see you are drawing a parallel with the ill-prepared and unsuccessful Russian attempt to overthrow the Ukrainian goverment by seizing Kiev a year ago.

The shortage of men of military age is particularly bad in Russia.

Most countries have not recently invaded their neighbours, so is is less relevant to them as they do not have a sudden and urgent need for a large army.

It is particularly relevant to Russia.

Which of those facts do you hope to disprove?
You think that Ukraine has more soldiers than Russia?

From Inews:
"Ukraine has a much smaller military capability. According to Global Firepower, the country has around 200,000 active personnel compared to around 850,000 in Russia.

Its paramilitary forces number 50,000 – five times smaller than Russia’s. And its defence budget stands at around $11.8bn, compared with Russia’s $154bn.

Ukraine has around 69 fighter aircraft compared to more than 10 times as many in Russia, with 32 military transports compared to Russia’s 445."

Reminder - JD said Russia had fewer men of fighting age because of covid and demographics.

The West is under no moral obligation to provide financial support to assist Putin's war
Don't worry about that, other countries are doing that already and not because they like Putin.
Outside the EU there is another world where people go about their daily lives.
You are living in the past, in the last world war the Europeans had empires which they could drag into their local disputes.
Those empires are gone, people in devoloping countries want progress in the form of clean water and then education, health services and a decent standard of living.
That is why the EU and America are increasingly referred to as the west.

I see you are drawing a parallel with the ill-prepared and unsuccessful Russian attempt to overthrow the Ukrainian goverment by seizing Kiev a year ago.
That is because you keep trying to draw parallels between Hitler and Putin.

Stalin invaded Poland

Hitler invaded Poland

Hitler, Stalin and Putin all invaded Ukraine.

No parallel, you say?

As you point out, Putin is living in the past and wants to invade and colonise other countrued to build his dream of a great Russian Empire.

I'm glad you accept that.

A lie by dishonest Justin.

It is actually the low number of men of military age that is a particular problem for Putin's war.

Very superficial comparison, Tony Blair invaded Iraq, ergo. Tony Blair is another Hitler.

As I said, it has a shortage.

Do you hope to deny it?
Not much if any compared with Ukraine.
Do you hope to deny it?
Do you maintain that it's relevant.?
By how many has covid reduced their combatants? And Ukraine's?
You're still trolling.

Let's check Russian demographics - which from what you're saying must have been savaged by miitary losses:

What might he do the moment before defeat and losing face become inevitable?
Who knows, but if his nuclear forces are in the same state as his conventional ones then we won't have much to worry about.

The Russian army were supposed to be up there amongst the best but they can't even quell much smaller forces in a neighbouring country, which should be a cakewalk for the size of army they have. Well, at least the army we thought they had. I don't think anyone could have believed just how inept they are.

If that's the case, why are the Russians still in Ukraine.
You should get over there before its all over.
