Ukraine counter offensive

The Chinese would certainly warn him against such drastic action and counsel the NATO allies regarding an invasion of Crimea: Turkey has hosted negotiations in the past 12 months but the Chinese are playing an increasingly hands-on role. If NATO gets deeper into arms supply for Ukraine i wonder if China would redress the balance with arms supply to Russia.
China has the manufacturering capacity and Russia has the raw materials.
They share a 4000 km border, so China could fulfill the same role as America in WW2 in supplying Russia with the hardware to take on the EU and its military wing Nato.
The above scenario would be one of last resort, i would imagine and hope.

A study based on open source inventories and docs found that western countries hold

10,141 main battle tanks

A figure that rises to 17,000 when older or recently decommissioned armoured vehicles are included

So far (?) between 125 and 157 of the most advanced tanks (?) have been formally offered to Ukraine

14 challenger pledged by the UK

Same number of leapord 11s from Berlin next month ?

31 abrams although delivery is expected to be months away

Other pledges have come from countries including Poland
Norway
Finland
Holland
And Canada

???
Plenty of tanks in Greece, sitting rusting away, almost a thousand Leopard tanks bought from Germany, even though there was no war at the time they were purchased.
Massive Bribes from the Germans to the Greeks to waste billions on military hardware while old folk in Greece had the pensions slashed.
They make Putin look like an alter boy.

I discounted the Greek ones. I bet they'd be "pre-loved" or "spares or repair" on ebay. They should have some ammo, though.
Not sure why they need so many now they've settled their little local difficulty, and if they're short of cash - when are they not...

On paper they have stacks of artillery, and they could supply drones. If they have something accurate they could do serious damage to what Ukraine have left, plus those half dozen Western bits and pieces.
Some are old Russian designs with presumably compatible 122, 130 and 152mm shells, some rocket aided..
I'm sure they'd love to poke a stick into Biden's eye, and cement their fossil fuel supplies from Russia, which of course have shot up and there's a pipeline/ being built.
Losing face is what really drives Chinese - they'd need to be assured of a victory.

Oh well, hadn't been planning to be alive much longer anyway.

Britain is the strongest military power in Europe.
Without America and Britain, NATO is a joke.
Something you think as being taken as read and not something that needs to be reiterated, perhaps I assume to much sometimes. I just think it saves time in answering question after question so as not to keep going down differing rabbit holes.
Thanks.

That's a interesting claim.

UK has an aircraft carrier, that was launched with no aircraft, and has difficulty getting beyond the Isle of Wight without needing to be towed home

It has a few hundred 30-year old tanks, about half of which are in working order. A few of them are only 20 years old.

The tank factory in Newcastle closed down over ten years ago.

You know your being an ar*e again.

You think modern day warfare's all about tanks, planes and ships these days then, fine.
