Ukraine counter offensive

I wonder if they'll stay as long as the Russian survivors stayed in Kiev.
They will stay longer. The russians never went to kiev, and stayed for 0 seconds. The ukrainians panicked and decided to negotiate in turkey. The russians then withdrew. The russians came back once they realized the ukrainains were not sincere. The russians are somewhat experts about land, like some people are experts about oil. So they took all the valuable industrial and wheat lands. The ukrainians were left with the corn lands. Corn is rather a coarse food. Its a punishment if people are forced to eat corn as a staple food. The land where kiev is holds no value to russians. Therefore they have no reason to go there, unless they want to end the war politically. They have no reason to do so. Reducing europe and nato economically is advantageous to them. Therefore they have reason to keep the war going. The UK riots are a symptom of economic strife bubbling to the surface. More will appear as the war continues. It is not possible to suppress wide spread economic problems with jails. There would not be enough cells. The prisoners become a drain on the economics as well. Feeding people by jail is more expensive than letting people feed themselves.

That must be why they sent columns and airborne troops to attack it at the begining of the war.

"On 24 February 2022, a few hours after the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a "special military operation" in Ukraine, Russian troops of the Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) made an air assault on Antonov Airport with the objective of capturing it. The airport held strategic value as it was located less than 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) outside of the capital Kyiv, which would allow Russian troops to airlift more troops and heavier equipment to directly threaten the city.[6] "

"On 2 April, Ukraine restored control of the airport following the Russian withdrawal from Kyiv Oblast.[19] "

Not all land is suitable for wheat. Most of those that-are are in russian possession. They can now corner the market.
