Ukraine counter offensive

It isn't a simple statistic of tonnage of equipment:

So France has given 25% of its Caesars.
You can only give what you have available to give, without leaving yourself short of equipment that is equally as needed.
Its almost like Putin was leading us all in to a false sense of security.

But the argument
defence officials say the true measure of military help is quality not quantity.
..Sounds a bit like an excuse

they are in the top 5 world arms producers - its simply not good enough and I'm afraid smacks of doing as little as they can get away with.

Negotiations will ensue in due course

Even if the ukraines take back the
Annexed areas entirely the Russians will continue to support an insurgency

Plus they will not be driven out of the crimea

That was lost in 2014

Traffic jam of Thousands of cars attempting to get into Georgia from Russia due to the fear of Putins conscription / mobalisation

Yeah but, no but,...
there is precedent. Wiki
The USSR transferred Crimea to Ukraine on the 300th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Treaty in 1954. After Ukrainian independence in 1991 the central government and Crimea clashed, culminating in Ukraine forcibly bringing Crimea under control. The Soviet fleet in Crimea was also in contention but a 1997 treaty allowed Russia to continue basing its fleet in Sevastopol. In 2014 pro-Russians seized control, organizing a referendum supporting Russian annexation, but most countries recognize Crimea as Ukrainian.

"A Czech crowdfunding campaign has raised more than £1.2m to buy a modernised tank for the Ukrainian army to help it defend against Russia’s invasion."

The contribution of arms to Ukraine, or anywhere else is not released by France. They made an exception with the Caesars.
So any media article claiming to know how much France has contributed is, by definition, the reporter's estimate.

Eight doesn't sound very many to me. Can we assume the French are going to send the ammo as well?
It uses the standard NATO rounds.

8 isn't many, but these are to Tube artillery as HIMARS II are to MRLS. They are some of the best SPGs around. With the longest range rounds they can almost match HIMARS.

Russia has a demographic problem, with a large proportion of its population being around retirement age, especially the skilled men in the armaments factories.

Many of the bright young people with foreign languages and marketable skills have already left the country.

Putin's conscription, and the large number of men who have fled to avoid it, has greatly diminished the number of people of working age.

This does not help productivity.
