They do work as very good emergency supplies, but the idea of using them as the first line of treatment is absurd.

It isn't a simple statistic of tonnage of equipment:

So France has given 25% of its Caesars.
You can only give what you have available to give, without leaving yourself short of equipment that is equally as needed.

We're looking at replacing the AS90s, now might be a good time to let them do the job they were built for.

The Ukrainians already have some Krab howitzers which is an improved version so it'd presumably be a good addition, if a bit dated and shorter ranged than the Cesar or Krab.

France has been a major source of military support for Ukraine. Like most European nations, France has opted not to disclose details of its arms deliveries to Ukraine with the exception of the Caesar SPGs, the disclosure of which also served the purpose of publicly reaffirming France's support to Ukraine and sending a message of deterrence to Moscow. Though France has delivered far less in materiel support than Germany at this point in the conflict, it has come under less scrutiny than Berlin. Of course, this has much to do with Germany's self-inflicted public communications disaster regarding its support for Kyiv.

There is a wiki page on support given by various countries. A number of things mentioned regarding France but no numbers unlike the Caeser and that's number is a significant proportion of their stock. Maybe all numbers are on the low side. - Pass.

Macron - Putin. As I mentioned at the time those talks probably related to a country in Africa that France had been supporting with actual troops etc. Ex empire stuff. Recent news suggests the country wants Russia to help. Fat chance at the moment.
