There is a ramp up in other areas as well. Longer range stuff for surface to air and tanks. They had a Zelensky adviser on C4. He reckoned none had arrived so far. He refused to answer a question about Russia's advances even when asked twice. Will they get there and how. C4 also had video or Russian troops with some of the arms that has been sent and Ukraine tanks etc.

The arms sent and training given over times has caused me to detect a bit of a smell to the whole thing. Leaving a piggy in the middle to achieve a more complicated end result. Or it might be down to politics in Ukraine. That does seem to have figured in the past when the whole thing started. Proxy wars can figure. I hope it's not basically one of those.

There is 100k US troops in E Europe now. Planes overflying them and who knows what else.

Russia does not have enough troops in the Ukraine to occupy the country ( fact)

The Turkish defence industry is getting a bit of a heads up

with ref to the drones they have supplied

They have been used in Syria and Libya

but came to more prominence when they were used in that war against Armenia

thousands of Armenian troops were slaughtered with these drones

It is a fur coat and no knickers economy.
Only America and Japan are more indebted.
Even though the EU is drowning in debt, they are going to have bond (IOU) sale to raise a trillion euros.
The so called poor Russians have a trade surplus and a debt to GDP ratio of only 17%.

There are two theories as to why the Russians haven't achieved their goal so far.
One is that the Ukranian military are putting up stiffer resistance than Russia expected.
The other is that the Russians are holding back to avoid civilian causalities as they regard the Ukrainians as fellow Slavs.
Depending on your prejudice, you can take your pick of either theory.

Ukraine was a massive producer of
Wheat / barley

the planting season is nearly upon them trouble is there is no one to do the planting

places like Eygpt
Morroco
Tunisia and other poorer African countries are reliant on it

relied on ukraine wheat ( and Russian) prices have sky rocketed

last time a similar thing happened it resulted in the Arab spring
