VAT on education?

Can you definitely say that no labour voters send their kids to private schools
It stands to reason that many voted for Blare, and, as a protest vote, for Starmy. VAT on education wont change the floating voter that much .But in the grand scheme of things they will also vote him out.

I'm not left wing.

I fully agree with vat on luxury goods

Whether we like it or not, we have to find more money (via taxes) but nobody wants to pay them.

This is a voluntary tax. If you want the luxury, pay the vat. If you don't, then the basic option is still available.

Which taxes do you think should rise? Bearing in mind the electorate generally doesn't want any and many low paid can't afford ?
Borrow more, and raise basic and higher rates of income tax, to pay for the borrowing. Previous torey govts have borrowed through the roof to fund the bail out of the banks and lock down policies. People borrowing more than they can afford on credit is acceptable, no reason why public sector borrowing shouldn't be. Kieth claims this is the biggest economic crisis since ww2 then targets people trying to educate their kids

Don't worry. Keir has a fully costed plan. Growth will be phenomenal.
Not that you will give it any credence Labour's general idea is pretty simple. So simple it's easy to miss and you would need to have listened to reports when Reeves did a symposium for the money men. It was well attended and went down fairly well. The money men are needed for investment. Real growth needs investment. Boris mentioned billions of it when we had left the EU - where is it? It was just waiting to pour in.

So the Tory approach to real growth. Cut taxes as much as possible. Tried it on corporation tax. Didn't work and withdrawn probably as the extra money was needed but they said it didn't work anyway. They adopt the same attitude on personal taxes. That may increase GDP but hasn't helped with real growth. We now have these taxes at record levels. This means that the country is far from being generally economically stable as things could get even worse. The bills the gov pay continue to increase.

Starmer did chime in once. He flatly rejects the idea that tax cuts are the only way to achieve real growth. His and Reeves idea is to offer the investors stability. This doesn't mean that there has to be changes in some areas just that some areas must not continue to get worse. Getting worse is why taxation has increased. They can of course introduce new taxes such as vat on private schools but things must remain stable and sustainable.

Sensible. Other countries have similar taxation levels and do better than we do so why not us? Cut taxes to achieve growth - it's an old general idea that these days does not always work. It increasingly hasn't over time.

Now it's a specialist place of some sort. That makes more sense. It can't be a formally recognised one because they're exempt VAT, but the education system has been run into the ground and getting SENs is a nightmare so it's quite possible they've got an undiagnosed or borderline child.

Yeah, that person may be in for a difficult time if they can't manage the price increase.
This should not be a country where only the rich can get education for special needs.

Abbot took some flak for sending her boy to public school, to avoid the grip of the gangs.
Think he ended up behind bars anyway.
Apparently, after a meteoric rise in the civil service, he succumbed to drugs anyway, despite his education.
Diane Abbott called the police when her son threatened her with scissors during drug-induced psychosis and he later assaulted nine emergency services workers, it has been reported.
James Abbott-Thompson's mental health declined rapidly after he became addicted to crystal meth and he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
