Mis quoting me, merely put it forward as an option as you never mentioned it
Pulling teeth here. Okay. EXCLUDING those private students in private schools that MAY be home schooled, where would the others go and who would pay for them if the parents can’t afford the increase?

How many more fugging times?

It's a vat increase.
It’s not a vat increase at all. It’s a 20% increase on education costs if the vat has to be charged. Don’t assume that because they are being privately educated that their parents have bottomless pockets. What if the parents can’t afford the vat element so have to withdraw the kid. Where would they go and who would pay?

WRONG

if private schools have to charge VAT on schools fees they would then be able to recover VAT on expenditure, so its not a 20% increase

Also why should the 30,000 foreign students get away with not paying VAT on a British service?

Taxing those whose choose private education is a double whammy, as the state saves on the places their tax pays for. Some feel they have no choice if they have the money but the schools in the area are failing. Loads of Labor MPs were privately educated or privately educate their children
But it doesn't really save, it gives tax breaks etc away.

It's a (vat) tax that nobody has to pay if they don't want to. If people want private education it's only right it should be taxed. Nobody is saying stop private education.
