Let’s get down to the actual practical reality; humans are designed to procreate, hence why they have sexual desires.

Gosh, horror, oh what a surprise teenagers and adults have sex, sometimes the woman gets pregnant, sometimes they don’t want it, sometimes there’s an abortion.

So f*****g what, it’s life: there’s no need for every single one to go and have a child.

Finally it's good to see you went away and read up on the subject. But you still don't understand the assessment being made by the doctor. It is not for them to question the request for an abortion or to grant their approval of the woman's choice, but to check that it's within the legal time limit and do a risk assessment of the procedure. Sadly women do get complications and sometimes die from an abortion. As is true for women giving birth. There are roughly 1/3rd as many terminations as births and the fatality rate is very low. In fact you are about 10 times more likely to die giving birth.

So a doctor can assess:

- what is the impact of a person having to have a child they do not want - not good
- what is the likelihood that the abortion is higher risk than going full term - not very likely unless there are complications.

and his obligation is to do this in good faith, he is supposed to be overseen by another as a separation of duty. The aim is to protect the doctor and safeguard the woman. Not to act as judge to hear the woman's plea for an abortion.

So again. You seem quite happy with the UK setup, now that you understand it. Do you finally accept there is nothing to change? If not what do you want to change?
