Should be a legal requirement for all push bike riders on the public highway should have to have insurance IMO

and some type of road tax

plus a push bike MOT / annual safety check

And number plates possibly on the back of a HIGH-VIS jacket Plus LIGHTS as they are quick to blame drivers for crashing into them in the dark when they have no lights

You clearly don't understand the new or the old Highway code!!!

I was not talking about people in the road and any driver with a medium or above capacity will be aware of that.

The NEW highway code/rule is as the driver approaches the left turn and a pedestrian is march up to it on their mobile phone watching some BS and ready to march straight into the road, the driver has to NOW GIve Way. The old rules were if the pedestrian was in the road, that is common sense is it not.

Turning into a junction

Ever seen a driver turning into a junction and beep at a pedestrian crossing the road? The Highway Code states that If someone has started crossing the road and you want to turn into the road, then the pedestrian has priority, so you should slow down and give way until they’ve crossed

IMO, everyone should have a test on highway codes every year and we will get fewer accidents and quicker moving traffic. Just look at the jerks on roundabouts that failing to indicate left turning which slows down traffic. You could be done for careless driving or driving without due care and attention

No they have not and that is a fact.

I've seen many drivers mostly of one sex stop in the middle of the main road to let a woman with a pram/kids cross the road. This can lead to accidents as tailgaters can crash into you or the vehicle on the other side may not want to stop and cause an accident.

Pedestrians have a right of way at official crossings and where signage clearly states so and nowhere else.

Not what you said in this post

which post are you referring to?? What I said in my OP was accurate

The link you posted is as I quoted.

You are wrong

FACT - New rule means drivers have to give way to pedestrians APPROACHING a junction as per my OP

FACT - old rules stated give way to those pedestrian if in the road or stepping in

YOU ARE WRONG

Wrong again. Give up mate. Read the highway code the existing one and then the updated version.

Reading your comments has almost driven me to write to the PM demanding every driver takes a theory test re highway codes ever year.

You are also trying hard to confuse the left turn with the bike riding

You are wrong on all accounts.

Post the link again and then read and compare with the new rules and you will note you are wrong again

You are just so wrong it is incredible.

Why are you running away from the link you posted about people crossing the road at junctions and drivers turning left?? The link you posted is outdated info when the new rules come in and what do you think I was posting about

Having ran away you started to clutch straws and moved on to "bikes." I clearly stated that in the new code riding two abreast is in it now where it was not before.

You have been wrong on every account you posted a link that did not support what you said about the new rules

You are just wrong on every level

I've done my best to educate you and now spending my time emailing the PM and demanding driving theory tests for ALL every year and yes, I will pass every time!!
