What have you been doing today?

I hear many of the VIP lounges in airports from the midlands and upwards consist of a counter with black pudding sandwiches and tea from a flask with a comprehensive selection of magazines such as flat cap and whippet monthly.

I've made no claims(y)

You however,
You're saying that the rest of Stansted, Southend, and Luton are lovely then?

Gotcha (y)

I don’t quite get what you’re aiming at. How have you 'got' me? I said that the lounges in those airports are crap and not much different from the airport itself. I’ve been in other airports where you are packed in like sardines with a poor standard of food and seating but the lounges have been fine.

Anyway, this is not an argument thread, it’s a 'what have you done today' thread. Unless you want to post up that today you made pointless, snipey, off-topic north-south divide post, I suggest you either refrain from posting or start a north-south divide thread of your own.

Roughly
You said "Stansted" et al are crap.

I said "South-East; gets all the money and is still crap".

You said, "I was taking about the airport lounges in Stansted et al".

I said, "so you reckon the rest of Stansted, Luton et al isn't a shoitehole? Gotcha"

Grab a wet flannel, Grumpy :D

Going to pick more tomatoes today. Trouble is, I’ve got a bloody freezer full of 'em already!

How did you prep them before freezing?

I would braise them in a lidded pan for a few minutes, remove the skins, then cool and freeze. Use them to make curries, chillies, pasta sauces, soups etc.... you can even serve them with your famous cooked breakfasts.

The taste of summer all year through.

I didn’t. Just chucked 'em straight in as they were. Done it before on a smaller scale but only used them for frying after thawing out. Probably going to make pasta sauce/passata and soups with this lot. Got to do something soon though as I’m getting grief from Mrs Mottie as there’s no space left in freezer!

You need a chest freezer!

The advantage of sweating them down is saving space.

Didn’t have time. Was going on holiday at 4.00 on a Thursday morning and picked that lot on Wednesday night - if I’d have left them till I came back, they would have spoiled.

We had in mind to see how far we could get, walking the 7 miles from home, to a local town centre, along a disused railway track. Idea was, the ex-line crosses the bus route in several locations, so plenty of options to not go all the way on foot. We rose to 27C, and so decided it would be silly to even attempt it - Avril, me and the dog. Instead we went on the bus there and back, but restocked with five of the massive chops, from one of the butchers there.

We have lots of good, long country walks around here, just a matter of picking the right time, when the paths don't turn to mud, not too hot, and the spare time all meet together.

Sliced end of finger, while cutting fruit for breakfast.

Swam a mile openwater.

Had a couple of pints of Butty Bach.

Despite being hottest day of year, batch cooked 2kg of minced beef's worth of chilli.

25 minute HIIT session on smart trainer.

Showered.

Watching Engurland on telly now., still pouring with sweat.....

Came home today. The lounge at Mahon airport was 10 times better. Got a few looks though when I made Mrs Mottie and I a Bucks Fizz. I had to open a fresh bottle of fizz but as soon as I had untwisted the wire, the cork started to make its own way out - I think some joker behind the counter may have given it a bit of a shake. I tried to release it slowly and get just a hiss but I got a bloody big 'POP’ and a little bit of spray! Well, it was only 8.30 but you’d be surprised at the number of people knocking back the scotch, Gin, Vodka etc at that early hour. Anyway, I’ve come to the conclusion that every 'lounge' that I’ve been in in the U.K. is barely comparable with a canteen - Gatwick, Luton, Southend and Stansted. All the foreign ones I’ve been in, while not comparable with an airline lounge, have been a lot better.

Went round our friends to pick up Susie - she'd had a week with her friends and family and they were all glad to see us! Being the one of the oldest, she has seniority amongst the pack now and our friend told us she was the one who kept the young ones in order when the play fighting got out of order - a well placed growl and they got the message that enough was enough! :ROFLMAO:

A quick dash over the plot tonight to chuck some water about and a week’s absence from the plot seems to have resulted in a month of weed growth. Bloody things grow better than vegetables and need no looking after. If only you could make weed wine - I'd be a happy man!

How did you know which was your one?
