What have you bought today?

This, according to Octopus...
I'm terrified of taking it, in case I need it later in the Winter.

-1.3 outdoors here, as actually measured. The temperature had fallen to 17C, indoors, overnight, heating - set to 16C, didn't need to fire. I got up at 08:30. I'm perfectly comfortable at 17C, with 2 layers on T shirt, sweatshirt, and jogging bottoms. It takes me a while, after getting out of bed, to even begin to feel the cold. At 10 the heating changes to 18C, for the rest of the day, until we settle down for the night.
Recommendations for indoor workplaces are a minimum of 16°. Unless there is manual labour going on, in which case it's 13°.

Not anymore - ended in October. Still about £450 in credit though. Not fixed it again as the standard rate is still cheaper than the fix.

Octopus have a few time offered me a fix, but their early fixes were much more expensive than what I was paying. Their most recent offer, was just a penny or two higher, and I am quite tempted.

Up, and about in the house, the house general area is at 18C. Settled in the living room, we light the gas fire when we feel the need, on it's minimum setting. Even then, we find that too warm and have to turn it off.

What does she use for heating? A blast furnace?

It feels like it  And she lives in a very, very big house.

Eighteen months ago she had to replace her 35 year old chimney flue boiler with a modern condensing boiler. And then when the big price rise came in, she turned the unused rooms down to 12 degrees. Gas consumption reduced from 80,000 KWh a year to 45,000! It almost paid for the new boiler.

My daytime indoor temperatures are very similar to yours and my weather seems almost the same. But overnight my temperature has been falling to 13 degrees in this cold spell. Are you very well insulated?

Judging by how slowly the temperature falls when the temperature setting is reduced to 16C, yes. We have CWI, DG, loft floor is insulated, loft is boarded out, turned into a workroom, it's ceiling insulated, and plaster boarded. CWI is blown fibre, done 40 years ago, so I suspect it might not be as effective now.

Another pair of Sketchers slip-ins. Hands free. Just stamp your foot in them and off you go.

All that has been spent today, is £11.90, for two haddock and one chips, other than that, not been out the door. Minus 4.7 over night, with a light dusting, and more forecast. Beware of the yellow snow..

I've just done a shop at Sainbsury's where I saved 25% with Nectar :)

Including Pirinase spray, which is down from £8 to £4.50. (Although I've just seen Morrisons also have it on offer at £4.70.) Anyway, it's not to be sniffed at.

I see what you did there. ;)
