As Mrs Mottie will be away in Spain with her mates from tomorrow until Monday, we had our Saturday meal tonight. Fillet steak, chips, onion rings, mushrooms, peas and a tomato.

Spag Bol for one. The wine Nazi is away in Spain with her mates so there no wine rationing tonight. Cheers! ;)

Pukka chicken pie, chips, peas, and gravy. Been busy again today, so something simple. We are agreed on going for a carvery tomorrow.

Out to the local town, for a Stonehouse carvery, to test the 25% off, as an Octopus customer. Little did I realise - the 25% off, applies to up to 8 dinners, dinning to together. Nonetheless, a brilliant meal, it tasted even better, for not having paid the full price for it :)

There was enough left over, for a takeaway for the dog. She has become accustomed to us bringing food home for her, she carefully inspects, and investigates every bag, at the door - before allowing you in.

Sandwiches today for me.

Bacon and avocado for lunch.

Fish finger and lettuce for tea with a dollop of tartare sauce.

Ham and leek gratin with fine green beans and I finished off the dregs of a bottle of Sauvy B.

Mind you, I could have done with somewhere nicer to sit and eat it - had to clear a space on my table where my mate had left all his stuff.

Outside the carvery where the server asked Mottie to say "when" and started pouring the gravy.
I thought you said it was jus?

We had Lidl sausages, mash, cabbage and jus - all cooked by yours truelly, but prepared by Avril, before she went off to work.
