Apart from all the things that are going wrong with it.

Andy

tell me , what things are wrong with it ?

what i know it needs is driveshaft beRING, DISCS AND CALIPERS, BUSHINGS.

The question is, why is there oil on the outside (not in ) the throttle body, quite possibly turbo as ar has done almost 200k. Some one has suggested pistons but I really think not. The car is displaying no symptoms of pistons wear, it has oil leak but as I say it may not be turbo but it seems far more likely than pistons

There's nothing wrong with having a car that almost nothing works properly on anymore.

let's think of a quick list on my veritable Jag.

Doesn't want to come out of park fairly frequently

In stop start traffic it throws a gearbox error.

Central locking doesn't work properly

rear parking sensors don't work.

Leaks water into the cabin from somewhere

Aircon defunct.

In car entertainment system display blanks out occasionally

Throws a park brake error sometimes.

Engine warning light comes on sometimes

Got a persistent coolant leak.

Got a persistent slow puncture.

Windows don't wind up properly

Apart from that it's great, it has "character"

Thank you !!!
A lot of things on here peopel are coimng out of nwoehre about my car, it does not have any piston issues at all, the car drives amazing for its mileage and burns no oil.
It has some oiol at the bottom of the throttle body and it has been suggested it could be turbo on way outt ,if so the turbo will be changed probably by myself.
Apart from that everything else is minor as far as im concerned

Tell that to the judge when the discs, calipers and bushes fail while driving.

Andy

I fitted the calipers discs and pads at the rear 18 months ago, no problems at all with them. replaced front pads 6 months ago, no problems at all with them
you are a very negative person to be around

Apart from your smoking handbrake

I WOULD NOT CLASS BRAKES AS BEING MINOR!

Ask Mottie, MOT Tester.

Andy

Ah, yes well that is indeed a different matter, my Jag has new discs (how much!) new pads, fully functional calipers, even the ABS works. New shocks n suspension bushes, and a reliable engine, the rest is mere periphery (yes it has an MOT)

I tell you what’s wrong with it. The nut behind the steering wheel is definitely loose

When it’s warmed up and running, do you get fumes puffing out of the oil filler cap when you take it off?

good point, not that I know of as I assume oil will splash out everyhwere if I took the cap off with engine running , right ?

should there be no fumes/srteam at all from oil cap ?

Look. stop trying to put words in my mouth that I did not say. I am a very polite person but I also know when to stand up for myself and you are just trying to patronise me but I am not having it. why even stay and write and not just leave ? your response was that you aren't happy with the forum ( or yourself ) and have come here to spam and stir trouble.
it is not welcome here .

I did not imply that brakes are not important, I was implying it is a minor repair to sort out that it is no big deal in terms of getting ti fixed;
