When one does,one takes care.
Motorways at night are the norm for a blast.

So I have been told.

And does it endanger anyone else when one does?

We live in such safe and wrapped in cotton wool lives, it would be easy for the Health and Safety brigade to be able to find how staying in bed could endanger the lives of others... There are those who live their lives avoiding risk until they die very old and very dull people.

Everyone should do something that scares them every now and then...

I've got no problem with anyone doing anything that scares them. However, a mangled bike or its parts flying into adjacent lanes or oncoming traffic, or a wheel travelling at speed through someone's front window makes me beg my question. Especially when such an occurrence may not have happened if such extreme speeds had not been attempted.

Now doubt I'll get called every name under the sun but we had 195 out my 911 in Germany in 2010

172 out of my M3 in the UK at Bruntingthorpe

My Rangey won't go over 130 as it weighs about 7000 tonnes so took pic of MPG display with foot to the floor

I should have added my pics were certainly not on public roads except the bottom one which was on the M1 going uphill.

The only thing I'd say Roofline is wouldn't you be off better keeping an eye where you are going at that speed rather than taking pictures.

Well, seems like I'm not the fastest, but around 170 is the fastest I've been in a car. little bends seem like very sharp corners at that speed, but the adrenaline rush is worth it :D

yeah yeah..........you drive like a pensioner....on a Sunday (minus the flat cap)

ill get me coat >>>>>>>>> :p

It's an unanswerable question I know, but I'll ask it anyway - what makes one wish to travel at such high speeds?

Driving a car at high speed on a straight requires no skill. Just about anyone who has ever gotten behind a steering wheel could do it.
Now driving a 300bhp Group A Subaru Impreza through the hills of Donegal is something different and requires the utmost skill.
Here's a cockpit view....
