What's a skill? Rocket scientists have that as does a brick layer. People are still needed to empty dustbins and serve at Mac's etc. They have also mentioned adult education.

Qualifications. They can have an odd effect. I'm inclined to think of electronics as an example. Modern job shortage so high salaries initially a while ago. That attracts people and uni's produce more. Eventual result harder to get a job especially straight out of uni and a reduced salary. More people going into any given field can also have this effect.

MBK doesnt think we need the little people doing the little jobs. Unless they do them at very low wages, not enough to live on, is ok.

No thats not my position. My position is that some people are unable to reach their potential because they can't develop the skills they need to be more valuable to an employer. For some its nothing more than mindset for others its just having another crack at things they didn't grasp at school/college.

I'm sure you don't need me to explain how employees add value to their employer.

So you want to pay them as little as possible. Whether it's enough to live on , or not.

You actively support lower wages.

Did Covid affect only UK, or the entire world?
How is the UK doing, compared to our close neighbours at similar levels of development?

Did they all pay people to sit at home the same as us. Did they shut as much down as we did from which a lot of businesses have not recovered.

Without a vaccine, the govt had no choice but to try and dampen infection rates.

Sadly the govt made the major error of not locking down soon enough, so had to keep things in place longer

Non pharmaceutical interventions were the only option available at the time


Other countries like South Korea made extensive use of test and trace to limit infection spread.

U.K. had a govt which put greed first, so it waited for private labs to be test up to do testing despite NHS lab network being available.
