It sounds like it, but it's pretty likely to be true. They called it "gain of function" research. Basically trying to do a few thousand years' worth of evolution with a bit of genetic manipulation. This was not because they were evil baddies who were trying to kill the world while laughing menacingly. They were deliberately trying to create a really bad virus so they could produce a really good treatment for it, just to be ready in case this actually happened in the wild. All sounds good, provided the lab really is sealed, which it probably wasn't.

That doesn't really add up, Covid on the death certificate may still need a post-mortem. One doesn't negate the other.

There were instructions to coroners that if anything looked vaguely like covid then they should record it among the causes of death.

Also deaths within 28 days of a test were recorded as a covid death statistic. If you had a positive test then got hit by a bus 28 days later than you would be recorded as a covid death.

There was definitely an intention to make the figures as high as possible, to the point that they're now utterly meaningless.

Perhaps the intentions were good - they wanted to scare the sheeple into doing as they were told, to keep everyone safe. Or perhaps they just wanted to increase drug company profits by creating a clamour for vaccines. We'll probably never know why things happened, but the lockdowns were definitely not justified even based upon the evidence that was available at the time.

It doesn't matter - one way or another our hospital were filled with Covid sufferers ££££, many still have problems £££ and our Funeral homes were maxed out with the backlog of orders £. In addition the world went in to lockdown £££££ and the economy held its breath for 2 1/2 years. As soon as the vaccines came. £££, things started to settle down.

Either way - Covid may increasingly appear to be an industrial accident on a global scale. Had it happened in the UK, we'd be handing out gazzilions.

Most of the financial (and probably health) damage was due to the lockdowns, not covid itself. The lockdowns, isolation, missed hospital appointments etc etc were mostly a massive over-reaction to a moderate risk.

The govt intentionally transferred covid sufferers from hospitals to care homes, so at least some deaths were self-inflicted by incompetence.

The reporting was pretty sensational, the covid death figures were all very dodgy.

If the UK govt asked China for compensation then they'd be likely to raise these issues as their defence, which may be a bit embarassing for our lot. So they probably won't.

Non truths and misquotes are not to be relied on, don't give them a prominence they don't deserve.

If you have anything constructive to add please do so. It was reported, I forget where but a credible source. This was before testing was available, they were basically told to record anything resembling it as covid, as there was no way of knowing if it was or wasn't. If in doubt, it was covid.

If it worries you then check for yourself, there may be a record of it somewhere.

What do you want to know? I am simply calling out myths which have somehow become facts for some people.

Of course you can believe what you like, but don't pretend it has any basis in fact. I'm genuinely happy to be corrected, but the usual response is "it has already been discussed" or "google it yourself".
