Nearly 3/4 of million.? Kinell! I see Brexit and the Tories are doing their part.

Brexit - total pile of shít.

@motorbiking So they couldn't apply for any of the mentioned visas then..

The individual does not qualify under any of the remaining open ACRS pathways and will not be prioritised. What do you recommend they do instead?

Nothing wrong with people coming to the UK to work legally.

Really? True blue gammons stated it was one of the reasons they voted for Brexit and was part of the bullshít anti-EU campaign. Did you not see the posters?
Funny how Brexers change their tune once they see what a pile of shít is really is.

how’s that working out?

A = Only 22 Afghan people, including eight children, have been resettled in the UK under part of a government scheme that promised to help vulnerable refugees.

what is his/her proposed route to the UK and which countries does he/she intend to pass through?

According to you - only "True blue gammons" voted leave? 17.5M - give your head a shake.

MBK posted that as a joke. Anything with a 'GOV' prefix is probably recognised the world over as something to be avoided. Most over 50's Afghans will have died of old age, long before their applications land anywhere near the 'approved' tray.

So you dont any people coming to the U.K. to claim asylum.

If you don’t want any coming here, please can you explain which countries should take more

or maybe you think every country can think like you and refuse to take any asylum seekers….in which case I wonder how you think they should “disappear”

@noseall I said. previously.. I was on the fence and saw benefits and problems with both leave and remain. In the end I was persuaded to vote leave because I didn't like where the EU was heading (more members, more money, more protectionism, more Euro centric policy). You have to be a dreamer to think the EU is a happy efficient club where everyone plays nicely for the benefit of its citizens. It's a bloated, money pit, full of lobbyists and every member is out to exploit every other member to get funding for themselves, while also claiming to be too poor to pay more in. I'd have been a remainer if we kept freedom of movement to freedom to work. The Maastricht Treaty was the start of the problem.

Correct. If they have a skill we need, they are very welcome. We decide who comes in, not anyone in the EU being given carte blanche to work in the UK. Of course, the same must apply the other way round for UK residents wanting to work abroad. No different to when I went to work in South Africa in the eighties. I had to be sponsored by a company because they couldn’t get qualified people from within their own borders. I had to have a work permit, I had to have accommodation, I had to have a health check and I had to have health insurance and quite rightly so - they didn’t want me going over there, paying ten bob in tax and getting five hundred quids worth of health care.

The guardian says the number is 22, the home office say many thousand. Who's right? Are the civil servants lying about the numbers? Could it be the Guardian selectively reported those who'd actually been fully through the process which was only launched a few months before and ignored all those who had arrived and were in process?
