It's interesting to note that the posters who support the 'scum' attacking the police are the same 'scum who support attacks on Israel by Hamas.
Who are supporting the attackers? Who has supported the Hamas attack?

It wasn't exactly "it’s a fair cop guvnor" was it? Floors a police woman, attacks another armed policeman from behind and attempts to get him in a strangle hold (not exactly self-defence was it?) so when someone likes that goes down on the floor, you make sure he doesn't get up again. If you attack the police, you should expect fair play to go out of the window and to get it back with interest. They are not paid to be unresponsive punchbags.

Unreasonable force, what you do as a disciplinary is another matter.

Taser guns are issued to allow police to use non-lethal force to incapacitate a suspect, and allow an orderly arrest.
They are not issued to incapacitate a suspect so that you can then viciously attack them while they are incapacitated.
Kicking and stamping on a defenceless person's head while they are incapacitated is potentially lethal force.

I don’t see that the religion of the people involved is a factor here, and I would think that people on both sides of the argument on DIYnot can see that, having seen more of the incident with the new footage.

Personally I think the violence shown towards the police is completely unacceptable. The police have a very difficult job at the best of times and no one should go to work and have that happen to them.

I can see why some are upset by the kicks, but tasers are not 100% effective at incapacitating people. Perhaps the officer feared the guy was about to get up and wanted to be sure of preventing that to protect him and his colleagues.

Perhaps the officer was just angry after being assaulted and primal instincts took over.

Lots of “perhaps” there because only one person knows what he was thinking. It easy to judge from the comfort of your armchair, not in the split second of the heat of the moment. All well and good to talk about training, etc but as Mike Tyson said: “Everyone has a plan until you’re punched in the mouth”.

Either way, the strong arm tactics of that policeman subdued the two attackers that had been, and may have continued, to resist arrest.

For the people saying, what if it was you family member on the floor, I would say that if that was the case then my family member fully deserved a couple of swift kicks to the head for that behaviour. I would hope my family member and their mates might think twice before resisting arrest or assaulting police offices in the future.

I am personally also pleased to see the office pepper spray the bystanders that are antagonising these sorts of situations. I’d like to see more of that please.

A common occurrence unfortunately, but the policed are trained to deal with things like this. He lost his temper, pure and simple, in front of a load of cameras. The stomp was particularly vicious.

Hope he’s reinstated immediately and those thugs are made an example of.

I don't disagree with you. But the question remains.

If you had been caught kicking somebody like that, regardless of the preceding events, what would happen to you ?

I wouldn't have the slightest concern if the policeman had broken the guys limbs or nose or jaw or did anything else to get control.

Didn't take long for Reform to wade in to Rochdale with their boots on, kicking up a fuss and inflaming racial tension. Ded easy to spot the Reformers in here, too. Chewing the gammon and getting their Gumby knickers in a twist. If they're so happy about vigilante justice what will they say when Reform has started a riot?

If you watched the video I posted about these people leading up to the kick, the aggressors brought it on themselves. But those from a certain religion do seem prone to aggression and ignoring our laws.

Next they'll be wanting their own laws. Oh, hang on a minute.......................
More generalisations, I know plenty of non muslims who have had a ruck with coppers, does that make everyone prone to aggression
