Prefer the look of the Atto on the outside, but the interior is too wacky for me. And I'd delete the "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" on the back end.

I live in a Terrace in Lancashire, so I can only have a petrol car as I have no on street parking out front, nowhere to put a charger and no available charging points anywhere near my home.

No matter how you try to twist it, I am unable to charge an electric car currently without paying a lot more or being very inconvenienced for it.

Would it be possible to install a charging point at the front of house so an EV could be recharged overnight?

On a terraced house? Trouble is, you don’t have any right to park outside your own house and even if you could, how would you get the power from the house to the car without laying it across the pavement for someone to trip over?

Yeah. It's a stoopid idea. Perhaps when the technology can find a way for the vehicle to charge up in situ without relying on an external source it could be possible.

Councils could install charging bays for EVs in the same way they do disabled bays, but they don't.

Right now if you don't have a driveway or a charging point at work EVs don't make sense. Check back in 3 years and stick with Petrol for now.

But a disabled bay is a small scale investment when a lot of people live on terraced streets, making it very difficult to charge up an EV. If the transition to electric vehicles is going to work at all there'll have to be a way for everyone to recharge, regardless of where they live. Perhaps converting car parks is part of the answer?

And that is probably the only logical argument against ev's.

They aren't yet, for everybody.

Disabled bays cant turn a profit either.

New properties should be required to have them fitted to all spaces (or one per household).

Major manufacturers are moving away from EV`s anyway

You don't need "everyone", just a percentage.

Besides, if the "everyone" test had to applied for everything, nothing would ever change (which would suit many people ;) )

Just convert your front room into a garage. Simples :)

Might start a trend for the reverse garage conversion!

What, two per street? In any case, the material required for installing a disabled bay is just a drop of paint. How much do you think a EV bay would cost to install? What happens when they put a charging bay outside someone’s house who either moves or goes back to an ICE car? They or the new owner won’t be able to park outside their own house. Ever.
