Logical reasoning from judith. :sleep::sleep:
So, going back to judith's original, ill-thought out comment:

As we have determined, a computer is basically a PCB.
Therefore, according to judith, the government can reasonably tax anything with a PCB in it.

Computer definition:
a programmable electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these operations

Printed Circuit Board:
an electronic circuit consisting of thin strips of a conducting material such as copper, which have been etched from a layer fixed to a flat insulating sheet called a printed circuit board, and to which integrated circuits and other components are attached.

Different by a country mile :mrgreen:

Buffoon!
Your first description of a computer is what it does, not what it is!
Your second description of a PCB is what it is. What it does is whatever it is designed to do!

It is like saying a method of transport is to get you from A to B, i.e. its function!
Whereas a car is made of wheels, an engine, etc. i.e. its components!
Then you would argue that a car is not a method of transport!
Buffoonery is too weak a word to describe your antics.

Dictionary

motherboard
ˈmʌðəbɔːd/
noun
COMPUTING
  1. a printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors for other circuit boards to be slotted into.
Now tell me that a motherboard is not a PCB! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You should stick to plumbing! Make a mistake with that and you will only get wet.:LOL:

to be fair, nothing notch says is to be taken seriously.

I know bugger all about plumbing, but clearly more than you know about computers :D:D:D

good try on altering the dictionary term 'motherboard' to imply its the term for printed circuit board.

I bet you feel a right plum having said in post 49: 'computers are pcbs':mrgreen::mrgreen:

My description of a computer and pcb were taken from the Collins dictionary. Im sorry didnt realise such a source would be wrong

One or more components of a computer may be a pcb.

This afternoon, Im going to write a letter on word for windows. I think I will use: thin strips of a conducting material such as copper, which have been etched from a layer fixed to a flat insulating sheet. Oh damn it wont work. No keyboard, no display, no operating system. D'oh! It seems a pcb isnt a computer after all :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Way Har bee the term PCB stands for printed circuit board,( there u go transam helps u ounce again) your washing machine (if u had one) would have a pcb in it ;):)

Effing buffoon:
A motherboard (sometimes alternatively known as the mainboard, system board, baseboard, planar board or logic board, or colloquially, a mobo) is the main printed circuit board (PCB) found in general purpose microcomputers and other expandable systems.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motherboard
Definition of: motherboard
motherboard

Also called the "system board," "main board" "base board" or "logic board," it is the primary printed circuit board in a computer or other electronic device.
https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/47252/motherboard
You have talked yourself into a corner so you are now desperately trying to dig yourself out by inventing silly allegations.
Keep digging plonker! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I said in post 58, and 59 that computers are basically PCBs.

Oh look, so does wikipedia, and PCMag.

Are we arguing whether it's a motherboard or a PCB?

Is this what it's come to?

Dic*ead
A computer will have one or more PCBs, as will all other modern programmed controllers. They will not work without them.

The keyboard and display are input/output devices, nothing to do with the computer.
The operating system and/or BIOS will be on a ROM storage device, (disk, chip, memory stick, etc), which will be connected to the PCB in some way. All modern electronic controller will have these fitted to the PCB, with the designed function embedded into it.

D'oh! It seems a pcb isnt a computer after all :mrgreen::mrgreen:
I have said that multiple times, it may be, but as often as not, a PCB will not be a computer. It might be a telephone, a heating controller, etc. As in a fruit is not an apple, it nay be a banana, an orange, etc.
But a computer, a heating controller, etc is basically a PCB (or several), as in an apple is a fruit, so is an orange, etc.

Not at all, wannabeatwatagainandagianbutcouldn'thelphimself. My "logical reasoning" is that Corbyn might choose to put a tax on computer technology. If you translate that to anything with a PCB in it, then that's your lookout/ problem.

way har bee will not have to pay tax on washing machine owner ship then ??
