Kings coronation bank holiday.

I got one number right.

Not sure what ellals relevance/point is though?
He thinks he's educating us on where our Royal family descended from. He thinks he’s the only one that knows and is waiting for someone to question him on it. He has enormous pride in the fact that there’s some German/Greek blood in the Royal bloodline. Oh, give him a chance and he'll educate you on Phillips Greek ancestry too. So far, he's had no takers.

I had intended working if the weather was fine, got the outside of a bungalow to paint, the weather is far from fine.

Excellent Coronation, great to see such an outpouring of support from the public. (y)
Yes, objection wasn't allowed.

People who want to abolish the monarchy should be careful what they wish for.
Who would you have as president.
Blair, Camoron, or even Boris Johnson.
Ah that boring old excuse for the ridiculous panto nonsense that currently passes for our head of state. If you jump out of the frying pan you might land in the fire and all that rubbish.

Perhaps we could do what almost every other civilised modern country does, and just vote for a president. Who will be chosen on merit, by the electorate. As happens every few years without incident almost everywhere.

You don't hear about any countries with democracies having protests demanding that a very rich family rules their country for ever while taking vast amounts of money from them.

If you were designing a new country from scratch then would you seriously pick the model of leadership we have? It's utterly illogical and impossible to justify, so those attempting to defend it end up making threats about some bogeyman who's going to replace the current mafia if we change anything.

Yes it was.
Don't mistake my comment. There was tremendous support.

A majority of people support the monarchy ? I really don't know but would guess it's around 66% area?

But objection was only allowed if it was approved. That is like China, Russia, N Korea. I don't agree with that. Even though I don't want to go and protest, I want people to be allowed to.

We aren't.

Protests have been in the news a lot in the past few years. How the authorities deal with these protests is revealing, as you say. The BLM ones in London and Bristol were allowed to continue to and beyond the point of criminal damage, and were featured in all MSM news programmes. Stop Oil protesters are left to block the roads unmolested. There were several anti-lockdown protests, all of which were stopped by the police and kept out of the news.

Civilised? Like the US you mean?

Where currently, one of their ex-presidents is on trail having been accused of rape and tried his best to reverse the legitimate election result? Or do you mean those presidents that murder the opposition and stay in power for decades, regardless?
