I don’t believe that’s really the same thing at all.
It was looking at sending failed asylum seekers to Tanzania. In fact specifically Somalians.
Mr Blair told MPs: "We are in negotiations with the Tanzanian government as to how we can process claims for asylum nearer to the country of origin. That is a sensible thing."
Various have mentioned nearer places several times. Currently no one really knows what Boris's lot really intend to do. The boat people come from all over even places where smugglers tell people the streets of London are paved with gold - just from poorer places. Those are not refugees. They are also the ones that may find themselves smuggled in and abused. Attempts at that sort of thing has been spotted on the way out of Ukraine - women as might be expected. The NGO's keep an eye open for signs of that, approach and a couple of blokes and a van disappear.
That doesn’t seem to be the same.

Unless perhaps you are suggesting the current govt should allow asylum claims to be made by refugees currently residing in other countries…,maybe France for example…..if so, that is exactly what the refugee council has been recommending
And processing asylum seekers. It's exactly the same thing.

A failed asylum seeker is somebody who has had their claim rejected and is waiting to be deported.
and currently are. It makes the whole idea dubious and just a political thing to do that makes little difference - other than reducing the number of boats and very possibly people who are aware that they are not refugees.
The nearer idea for processing has holes as well. Several areas would probably be needed - stable ones.

Because they will be in Rwanda and have asylum there. It is a perfectly safe country to be in, and if asylum was their goal then they should be very happy (even the UNHCR send refugees there) But a perfectly safe country is not their primary goal (they were perfectly safe in the EU) they're after British citizenship but unfortunately for them they are too late our little island is full.
Actually legal facilities in Rwanda has been mentioned that = processing. Refusing true refugees entrance has legal problems.
Yes. I wondered what was going on in Yemen. Some terrorists there aren't now and up pops a map of the set up, couple of areas of IS control. USA trying to get Israel and several arab countries who don't entirely get on well to work together. IS seems to be active in Africa as well.
I suspect some true refugees can be refused entry. Thinking of Syrian camp like areas. There are kids known as IS cubs who have been indoctrinated and no one wants them. There are still some IS moms. Moms who have IS cubs who aren't IS have to leave them if they want to migrate. Those types mostly forced to have sex with soldiers. Interesting AlJ program that went through how IS work. Pay soldiers - join to avoid starving. Grab kids and indoctrinate them noting which ones may be suitable for suicide missions and even catalogue photo's.
There will be people from other areas that have a bad reputation - such as African insurgents that mutilate people to remind them they are around.
Come from these sort of areas and being able to live in other countries probably is difficult.
