More Syria style than Iraq. Russia are reusing their approach from there.
The problem with the Russian statement is that they don't just flatten the city whilst letting civilians escape, they also prevent anyone leaving whilst they flatten it. Otherwise you just let the surviving troops and insurgents escape to fight again.
Oh and any fighting age male is automatically a potential insurgent.

When you include comments about both sides being "naughty" you imply false equivalence. It's like giving equal weight to climate science deniers or flat earthers to scientists. That there are two sides doesn't mean they are equal.
Russia's consistent response to any allegations of war crimes has been to say it's a fake. Ukraine's response has been to say we will investigate and punish if it's true.
Like you I wonder about how stuff will get their. How difficult? Both sides may have the other's sympathisers mixed in with them.
End game - who knows. A Ukrainian has just said this war is down to Putin - correct but it's still a war. This following talk about Ukraine's reported war crime imply what soldiers get up to is another matter. It is and all deaths are down to Putin's lot.

it's not clear because I am not doing what you suggest. I've passed no comment that one side is better or worse than the the other etc just that these things generally do happen in wars. Fact of life. It's pretty obvious which side is worse.
My wondering about POW's may have been cleared up. Same senior Ukrainian soldier I mentioned. They exchange them for their captured soldiers.
Another unidentified report with no attribution or source just said it isn't.

I don't think he is either. Both sides will committ atrocities in any war. Ukraine's Azov Brigade have been a-holes in the Donbas. Still not an excuse for mass bombing.

You do seem to like pointing out how considerate Russia are being,
Pootin and his soldiers will continue to commit war crimes on an almost daily basis because they know that the West can do absolutely nothing about it.
The Ruskies will not hand over the soldiers let alone Pootin himself so all this talk of putting them on trial is pointless.

If -1 is model A it's from 1975. All are inertial guidance. All that can be said about that is an odd one to use for a truly precision hit. They should be more than aware of that.
They're not exactly overflowing with the best tech for the job though are they.
How many times do civilians have to be targeted by Russians, before people it is realised that they are targetting civilians. Time and again, Ukraine has tried to get civilians out, and the Russians have bombed them.
Its the same playbook as they did in Syria, so hardly a leap of faith to say they are committing war crimes.
They have also attacked about 64 hospitals, so hardly collatoral damage.
Apologies if you do believe the Russians committing war crimes, but there do seem to be people here that have doubts.
