That sounds like a distortion of something that Lavrov said. Zelenskyy's talks to Israel didn't go down all that well with them.

Russia's claiming Israeli fighters are against them in Ukraine - assumed to be mercenaries.

There was a short clip on the box yesterday, A volunteer battalion. 20% not nationals mentioned. They are likely to be from all over the world. Similar people were also involved right from the kick off 2014. Even Chechens on each side.

Same news broadcast showed 2 US antitank missiles. First time I have seen them on TV out of their case. 2 people carrying one in it's case, It looks much bulkier than the UK ones.

Its is pointless because the Ukranians are not a homogeneous people , the country was created by the Soviets who cobbled together different ethnicities to create an artificial state, this worked ok while Ukraine was part of a communist empire.
Once Ukraine became independent the ethnic and cultural faultlines that were suppressed by hardline communist rule began to reappear.
This phenomenon isn't uncommon when empires breakup, maybe Yugoslavia should be allowed to recreate itself and Serbia should be allowed to recover Kosovo.
Conflict in Ukraine predates Putins invasion.
If the Russians withdrew tomorrow, the underlying problems which make Ukraine unstable would still remain.
Biden and the EU don't care about Ukraine, its just another proxy war against a geopolitical opponent.
Dozy Joe Biden has admitted that Russia is the real target, he has called for regime change in Russia and war in Ukraine will continue until this geopolitical aim is achieved.

The areas concerned are a continuous source of trouble that flairs up from time to time. Extremists said to be on both sides. IS mentioned recently - it seems some were dressed in black. Who knows. According to a German friend who has business connections with companies in the Ukraine it was a very stable country.
