Putin, arse, elbow

Russia is heavily reliant on rail for supply routes. But water is also far, far superior to road in terms of tonnage.

One of the many reasons that the Ukrainian ports are high up the Russian priority list.

Yes battalion groups in Ukraine are well served by sea ports....

In other news, if we wanted to read the Wikipedia article on the Marshall plan then we'd go read it there.

Pity a few don't educate themselves, yes. I would never rely solely on Wikipedia though, I wrote some of it.

Nonsense. Unrelated. 7 years apart.
I know so wonder why I included it. Also why it's mentioned in the main wiki page I initially quoted from.
That post came about because of incorrect comments about what each country received from it. Also incorrect reasons for Germany "doing well" but I wont be going into that.

Some report suggest that the Ukranians have hit some Russian landing craft ( more than one ) With missiles ????

There's footage of what appears to be a small boat being blown up, apparently using a Turkish TB2 drone.

It's small and not particularly significant as a vessel, It can carry a handful of vehicles at a time and it's pretty quick. If it weren't for the gun camera footage it wouldn't be worth mentioning.

report on al jareza under the heading breaking news ??

that video you are probably referring to was around on line yesterday ?? Said it was a gun boat ??? Or gun boats (2)

Brigade, they use the Brigade as the basic logistics unit.
So what? It's irrelevant even if true.
BTG's need supplying where they are, and they do it by road. Not by boat.
(Battalion Tactical Group - they really do exist - look it up)

Not sure how BTG's relate to Ukraine. They seem to relate to troops that are instantly available all of the time. ;) Need to read the wiki again, They have changed how military units work and also cut down on ranks which probably explains why generals figure more now. They had too many officers. A Pentagon chat on changes from memory related to making units more manoeuvrable.

One channel showed the recent big ship being hit. It looked like a targetted drone or laser guided from air to me but could have been just a drone monitoring the hit. The initial photo was smoke more or less the horizon that could be from anything. An earlier shot much like the "drone" one claimed to have hit a Russian patrol boat of some sort. Pretty sure both of these were shown on BBC.

It seems all civilians have been evacuated from the steel works - those that can be according to the agreement. No males of fighting age.

More from Odessa this morning from some one there on AlJ. Airport hit, seems 2. Runway and ???. Also comment that Russia is hitting them all over the place. One ex military and not used for years.

Also shot of 2 self propelled artillery guns from the west. Said to be there and in action. Plus a Ukraine grav letting loose. A salvo from one of those on the more recent one is said to cover 79acres that I would assume can be shaped. The main improvement in the more recent one is guided missiles. Range depends on the type of rocket. Up to 23miles on the old gravs, Typical stuff around 10.

Looks like the Russians are paying a heavy price (?) for capturing that snake island

helecopter bringing in troops
2 patrol boats
A Sam site
Landing craft : ship

all taken out by the Ukranians

Also it would appear (?) that American intel helped the Ukranians take out several of these Russian generals ??

The Russian blockade on Odessa may be having an effect as Zelensky is now asking for help towards breaking through to bring food and medical supplies.
Bringing it all in to the country through roads will be a logistical headache.
