Putin, arse, elbow

:( My sound is dead. Those videos show that both sides shoot and shell each other I assume by showing the Donbas end of things?

I saw mention of grads. The actual model called a grad isn't that accurate. The more recent one uses guided rockets and some of the earlier ones are said to have been upgraded - Russian anyway. Ukraine's ??? There isn't much info around on what Ukraine has. One source says both sides have Sukhoi Su-27. A pretty advance agile fighter. We only hear about migs. Russia publish a list of kit they say they have hit. Ukraine says the numbers are more than we have or had if they have been hit. Both sides will have lost kit and soldiers.

Dissapointing Makarov still at sea
I'd have thought Ukraine was mostly interested in hitting missile ships. The Black Sea Fleet has several. What is that one? Some sub launched missiles were used recently.

I watched an interview with a young British kid who went Ukraine to fight the Russians.
He met other people who had went to fight in Ukraine as well, he said that within a week half of those people were dead due to Russian missile strikes and he barely escaped with his life.
He is back in the UK living with his mum, he thought that only Russians were being killed and it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

The Russian blockade on Odessa may be having an effect as Zelensky is now asking for help towards breaking through to bring food and medical supplies.
Bringing it all in to the country through roads will be a logistical headache.

Yep, but it'll be a tough nut to crack. Tunnels hopefully loaded up with anti-everything missiles, it's much nearer the west. It's big too. It's not clear yet what role Transnistria will play.

Bear in mind that the vast majority of things we hear are propaganda even from the west. Eg Putin's original statement was conveniently forgotten. Then comes fighting that may or may not fit in with that depending on how you look at it.

Russia's main concern is likely to be Crimea, the home for their Black Sea Fleet. The rescue aspects - the usual excuse. Russia is looking for a surrender is one way of looking at it. They carry on until their terms are agreed. Given the recent statements from the USA defence man what is going on now could be regarded as a proxy war. Both sides are entrenched and have inflexible views on the eventual outcome.

So we have an evil war. Invading another country etc. That is a fact. The above is very likely to be as well.

Tunnels hopefully loaded up with anti-everything missiles,

I shouldn't wonder about this but afraid I do. A quandary for some one watching a guided missile coming in. What will it hit if it's "shot down". Is there any guarantee that the explosive part will explode in the air?

A warehouse of some sort has been hit in Odessa. Badly hit going on the footage shown.

I was replying to a specific post about an "interesting channel". The guy is obviously blinkered.

Slightly OT, I was watching an old episode of Shark Tank Australia last night (basically like our Dragon's Den) and three guys walked in to pitch their idea. Two were Ukrainian, one was Russian. They had all emigrated to Australia x years previously and were business partners. The 'Sharks' even cracked one or two jokes about them getting along with each other.

Stating the obvious I know, however it's tragic to think where these two countries are now.

How can he be blinkered if he shows what is going on? Both sides are fighting. Similar gear is being used. Areas have been occupied by both sides at times. If Russia occupies one they get shelled etc. Civilians get killed. The stuff used can't identify civilians or where they happen to be when either side are using them.

I'm not supporting the bloke or Putin. Just pointing out what war is. It kills people and not just soldiers.

Sounds like freight also figures in the Odessa hit.

lots of Russians have relatives in Ukraine - even some of the Russian troops - they might have killed their own relatives.

just 1 bloke has caused this, just one
