Why is it nasty to ask a simple question? I don't see how you can lose that much weight in that time. I eat less than 2000 calories per day. I have a busy job and go to the gym 10 hours per week - yet it has taken me 14 weeks to lose 6 kilos. Even if I stopped eating altogether I wouldn't lose the weight you claim to lose.

I've now lost 9st 4.5lbs..
all done with slimming world.. all since the start of september last year ( 2010 )..
it's perfectly possible and I don't do any exercise, i just eat right instead of beer and chips and pizza..

the reason I can loose that much that fast is that I started off at 33st 5.5lbs..
if you've only got a few stone to lose then you lose it slower than if you have lots to lose ( just by sitting on my bum at 33st I was burning 3500+ calories a day.. BMR.. )
think of it in terms of you walking everywhere all day with another person on your back..
in order to support and move all that weight I had huge leg muscles, just standing up was a 200+Kg leg press..
 
Well done for your weight loss, as perviously said, but your becoming a bit of a wind up merchant coljack - raking up the past - its becoming a bit boring !! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Joe and I have a past relationship where he and I didn't get on with each other for various reasons, so I ( apparently wrongly ) assumed that him asking me if I'd had a gastric bypass and questioning my honesty when I'd said I've done it all through an eating plan rather than any other method, was him having a pop at me..

it's simple maths anyway..
my current BMR is 3210 calories a day ( what I need to eat to maintain my current weight )..
to lose 1lb a week you need to eat 3500 calories less each week than you need, a defecit of 500 calories a day..
as my calorie counting diary says I'm eating between 1300 and 1800 calories a day then that's a defecit of 1400-1900 a day, which is about 3-4lbs a week..
if you have too large a defecit for too long though your body adjusts and slows your metabolism and stores any left overs as fat, so you can gain weight by not eating enough stupid as that sounds..
Exercise also builds muscle so you could be gaining muscle at the same time as losing fat, cancelling some of the weight loss out..

Well done, ColJack. Seems to me you're allowed a little triumphalism, at least. A middle finger to the naysayers/sceptics, I say. :)

There aint no magic method. Stopping eating altogether won't make you lose weight THAT fast. Paying some silly money-making club isn't going to help.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. 'Silly money making clubs' can provide a high degree of support and motivation as well as good advice - not everyone has the willpower to do it alone. 1-2lbs per week is sensible and the rate of weight loss that a GP will advise. Steady loss at a sensible rate tends to stay off because you change your eating and exercise habits over the period of weight loss.

Don't be so effing selfish and lose some weight for me now will you?

I've only lost 8lbs so far, down to 20st 1 lb.

(I shall ignore the thoughts flashing through Joe's mind right now, he and I do not see eye to eye and in any case he's on my ignore list!!)

joined WW 6 six ago and went great guns 16 pound in the first 4 weeks and have put on 3.5 pound the last two

only ten stone to go but I am determined and I have to thank COljack for inspiring me to DO something about me chub
