Tory Leadership Race

Jeremy Corbyn wasn’t interested in getting swing voters in marginals seats, he concentrated on the liberal left quadrant….so he got loads of votes in Labour heartlands and bugger all seats.

Starmer got 210 more seats than Corbyn.
Protest vote, but let’s hope he uses his majority to drive through real change

Thats a description of a voting pattern not a political goal
Starmer got 210 more seats than Corbyn.
A case for a form of PR to stop elective dictatorships on both sides, and the see saw of politics that makes things like the brexhit referendum next to impossible.

Protest vote
every new government gets in the incumbent losing,

Keir Starmer got majorities in 412 seats

he managed that by focusing on not alienating swing voters

but let’s hope he uses his majority to drive through real change
the state of the UK finances are the limiting factor, no amount of majority will alter that

you cant magically turn a country in massive debt with failing public services just because you have more voting power in HoC

Labour need 10 years to drive through real change this country has deep structural problems that cant be overcome quickly

you made the point that Corbyn got more votes than Starmer, I explained the reasons why but you are willfully ignoring it

Do you accept why Corbyn got lots of votes but achieved nothing?

absolute rubbish

we have FPTP and the strategy of the parties which have a chance of winning is entirely built around getting seats not votes

a political goal is to win power and voting patterns are key to achieving the political goal

Kieth as leader in 2017 with 2024 policies would have done worse, it was still about brexhit. Corbin was a gut leaver but respected his party’s position and changed.

absolute rubbish
His goal was to win
we have FPTP and the strategy of the parties which have a chance of winning is entirely built around getting seats not votes
Which is why people are cynical about politicians anf turnout drops
a political goal is to win power and voting patterns are key to achieving the political goal
So he is already plotting a second term. All tne signs are they deaf to public opinion. Im all for that if they deliver public investment in services and housing. Lets hope he goes to spec savers.

He’ll need a second term to deliver what he promised in the first 100 days.

We're having an International investment summit but Elon Musk can't come because he's a rotter, and P&O are a cowboy outfit, boycott them.
