Trump Re Ukraine

The Kyiv Independent reported the poll results last month - hardly surprising during another long winter of war. They'll keep fighting as long as America supports their war effort. Zelensky is right to avoid an election while Russia maintains their assault on their country.

I think Zelensky is a con man and a crook, probably filling his bank account at our expense, no way should we be funding Ukraine let alone putting our service men/women in danger over there, if the west had not got involved the small tiff with Russia would have all been done and dusted in 3 months.

Reform UK voters are significantly more skeptical about continued British support for Ukraine than their counterparts in the country’s other main parties, new research shared with Politico shows. A third (33 percent) of Reform UK voters think Britain should cut its contributions to Ukraine’s war effort if President Donald Trump reduces U.S. support, the Opinium survey — designed by foreign policy analyst Sophia Gaston for the Australian Strategic Policy Institute think tank — found. That figure stands at 19 percent for Conservative voters and just 15 percent for Labour voters.

“I think”

That’s the problem: you haven’t

Might be worth pointing out to those who don't click on the link, is that those voters are more skeptical about continued support if the USA withdraws support.

This is Trump. This is what he is. Transactional. Looking at everything through the prism of making deals. It also can't be overlooked he's president of a country that hasn't had its sovereignty directly threatened (at least I think I'm right in saying that?) although that is changing, and Trump knows it. My point there is Americans don't have that in their recent or distant history, unlike e.g. us and WW2, so they don't directly know what that feels like.

Yes the rights or wrongs of such statements from him can be debated, however with Trump we know what we're getting. And as I keep on saying, if the American people are starting to think in increasing numbers 'what have we done voting for him and the Republican party?!?' they have the mid terms and 2029 to make their feelings known.

Plenty of references to someone from Zelensky's 'inner circle' or 'close associate'. I'd interpret that as Andriy Yermak, who has a vested interest in prolonging the war and keeping Zelensky in power without the need for an election, and for the money to keep rolling in.

Money, you say?

We all know that Putin is one of, if not the richest person on the planet off the back of robbing hundreds of billions from the Russian people.
Are you saying it's OK for Zelensky to do the same because Putin does it?

Not sure what Boris had to gain from scuppering peace talks but scupper them he did.

I read this morning that in a recent poll 40% of Ukranians no longer trust Zelensky.
That’s a bunch of lies

There were never any real peace talks, there was no deal on the table, Putin was not involved and no agreement had ever been reached.

You’ve quote from a left wing progressive source (think Corbyn), the hard left are as much Putin apologists as MAGA
